And UEFA have confirmed that sporting merit up to the point of the season being ended, rather than club coefficient or any other method should be the deciding method of clubs playing in their competitions next year.
So anybody holding on the thought of null and void, would mean same teams in Champions League next year can forget it, not happening, only way we get in it is season resuming and us winning maybe 8 out of 9 games.

I don’t like the sound of this :cautious:

It will mean if season doesn't come to its natural conclusion, by far the likeliest is, we will be determined to have finished 9th, behind Arsenal in all likelihood (based on average points per game), and out of Europe totally for next season.
It is how the leagues which have in effect determined they are finished (Dutch, Belgian and Scottish) have settled their leagues.
And to be fair, it is what we deserve after this season.

So much for having an ‘easier end to the season’ (on paper)

If this season is ‘null and void’ it means it never took place. Legally you cannot determine points on a voided season I would of thought. And would be alarmed if clubs did not challenge thus legally who consistently played in either CL/ELMover the past few years, and they miss out because of this. Using this points system WBA would of been relegated few years ago. When Liverpool were some points in front of citeh, yet citeh went in to sin PL proves my point.

I think a season out of Europe would do us no harm at all.

Better chance of getting back into CL for following season if we avoid Europa slog.

Not according to BBC

Their guidance changes all the time, this won’t be the end of it. Anyway, I’ve read the actually quotes from uefa, not what the bbc or sky have said and how they want to interpret them. I might be wrong but its still down the the country FA.

It means losing up to £100m or so of revenue, on top of all the lost football revenue from the virus, on top of all our concerts etc being cancelled. At a time when even next season doesn't have any certainty, the global economy is heading down the toilet, and we've got hundreds upon hundreds of millions of pounds in debt. We can't even make the revenue up in the transfer market since nobody will be buying, unless we fire-sell one of our stars well below their issue value. We simply have to be in Europe, one way or another.

I’d be surprised if there’s any European competitions next season. Just doesn’t seem feasible before a vaccine or treatment is found.

I'm at a point now where I don't really give a fuck if Arsenal finish ahead of us or Liverpool win the league due to a ruling, I just want football back ASAP because the longer this goes on the more it will affect the football world and we as a club who have just built a massive £1B infrastructure need all the revenue we can get otherwise things could turn ugly.

I'm really quite concerned we are going to be monumentally fucked

So Spursy to build the world's greatest multipurpose events venue only for the entire concept of an event ever taking place again is expunged from human existence.

It’s funny because it’s true. Then again it’s not funny and could literally only happen to us although if this sends us under I could finally walk away which is what I’ve been wanting to do for some time now.

We'll miss out on CL the following season if we're in the Europa, almost certainly imo.

More money to be gained in the CL by consistently qualifying for it. The Europa League hinders that.

Exactly. We can't hire Jose and then say ' a season out of Europe so we can finish top 4 will be good for us'. Will be shite if we're out of Europe. Can't say I'm bothered too much by any of it at the minute though.

Because theres going to be UEFA competition next season:rolleyes:.Holding domestic competitions brings all sorts of risk factors that are almost insurmountable. Bringing international competition into the discussion is crazy. Do these idiots not consult with health professionals or something?

There's thousands of players that are going to have to completely self isolate away from their families before training even begins and are going to have to stay isolated from everyone throughout the remainder of this season(and next). International competition shouldn't even be a discussion until there is a drug or vaccine on the market that is fully scaled.

Its not sporting merit with so many games left, I get the Belgian, Dutch and Scottish leagues which have splits/playoffs etc but there is no way they can say its an eve playing field with so many games left.

And I'm thinking about the bottom rather than the top, would be ludicrous for teams to go down in this climate and potentially ruin them, without having a fair chance.

Although, if West Ham were in the bottom 3 i would not give 10 shits about the above.

Exactly. They aren’t going to have teams flying all round Europe until there is a safe working vaccine or there are fans back watching in the stadium or both.
