I hate to say it but the 5bn stadium won't be affected/stan kroenke will be fine. I live in LA and I am a pretty big NFL fan. The NFL has nearly gotten to the point where each team is making 1bn a SEASON! So with guarenteed revenue coming in with that (and the profit is still rising) they will be able to continue to spend money on Arsenal sadly

Not really sure where you are getting your figures from. LA Rams revenue was $400m last season. I’m sorry but anyone involved in a $5bn project that’s half built at this moment is gonna be in trouble. We’re just fortunate the stadium got finished and the refinancing sorted.

Wonder how long sky sports can survive with no subscriptions. They’ve made it very easy to pause the payment. They also seem utterly deluded as to when football will start again. They are definitely pushing hard that the season must be completed, for obvious beneficial reasons to them. Imagine the chaos if they couldn’t fulfill the current deal that clubs have handed players 5 year deals based on.
On another note the relaxing of FFP may be bad news for us. Will completely limit the impact on say Chelsea. But have a feeling Arsenal and West Ham will be in trouble. Arsenal are the most dependant club on gate receipts and also have high wage bill, plus Kroenke will have a massive headache committed to a $5bn stadium build that’s half finished. And West Ham are just a shockingly run club and Sullivan has probably lost a fortune on the markets and they have no tangible assets to loan against.

Everton. They’ll be the ones.

I got my figures from what the new CBA between the NFL PA and the NFL but they could definitely be off as that is what the NFL is telling the NFL PA they were getting close to. You definitely bring up a valid point and it was like 3am when I wrote in my last post so I'll say I agree with you on that trying to finish a stadium right now must be a nightmare :)

Kronke put $2 billion of his own families money into that stadium though. If he’s not nervous he must have balls of steel. Also, if it comes down to a decision between saving his own fortune there in LA or helping Arsenal out then it’s pretty obvious where his priorities will lie.

very true, I haven't really thought about if they had to choose one or the other because he would 100% take the rams lol wouldn't even be a thought

Sad thing is I haven't missed watching Spurs one single second...

Literally just woke up and though that. Unfortunately I think I’ve realised I’ve really been pushing myself to think/hope Mourinho will work. But ultimately he’s sucked out most of the joy of supporting Spurs already. But that’s probably for another thread lol.

I have spoken to a couple of people in the game, the last few days and both think the season will be null and void.
It not just about football here, it's a world wide issue and both pointed out with the Euros next summer and Quatar in the middle of winter in 22. The fixture calendar would be a complete mess if this season was attempted to finish in the Autumn or later.

Agree the break has kind of been nice given the rubbish that has been produced for the majority of the past 9 months

However day by day I am starting to look forward to the return of football and the chance to see what effect Jose has had on the team now he has been given proper chance to work with the players.

I agree. Also I don’t think the break has come at a better time for any other team but us given the run we were on. Both results and injury wise

Some bits in here, seems as if starting June 1st and finished my mid July is their tentative estimate as to getting this season in and starting next season roughly on time
(Edit just realised its a behind a paywall, odd as it wasn’t last night)

Makes sense. It always seemed like the rush to finish the season was simply to crown Liverpool champions but is it really worth destroying next season and potentially players health for that.

The situation is unprecedented in modern times and while it’s a shame for Liverpool and maybe Leeds and Leicester you might damage all of football trying to rush finish the season particularly if we don’t come back till August/September.

They just really need to get on with voiding this season and looking forward to the day that humanity returns back to normal, we have no idea how this Corona thing is gonna last so predicting a June return is wildly optimistic.

all big leagues are waiting for the govt mandated declaration that fixtures cannot continue until say August or September (which I think its likely) - this reduces the threat of litigation.

As i said in an earlier post, there is no single scenario in which a club or clubs don't get completely f****d over.

amazing how quickly things are changing. 10 days ago I wasn't even thinking of the season not being completed, now I think the chances of it being completely are pretty much zero.

how long before we start to wonder about next season, let alone this.

stay safe everyone !!

Ties in with the Athletics report this morning which said the premier league knows that football won’t resume on 30th April it’s more just a holding date to by them time. Also said it gives clubs the chance to give players three week break which again ties in with the news from yesterday that we have stopped training.

Given reports this morning about the Portsmouth squad I think that does show that even resuming by first June is unrealistic it how quickly the virus can spread between a squad.

I find it hilarious that they think we'll be up and running in June.

It's not happening.

I suspect come the end of April they'll void the season.

I think ultimately the directive will come from UEFA. You have to consider as well all countries are in a different stage. It’s just impossibly complex to get this season finished. By fair the easiest thing to do is null and void and then we start a fresh when can.
