I doubt they'll be European competition next season.
I think there will be but with certain criteria. Or they may even resume this seasons competitions next season (in the new year).
If they did cancel it then it would resolve the issue though. It would mean we start again next season to qualify over a complete season.

Gary Neville has proven what an actual twat he is throughout this pandemic. All he cares about is football's return. He's completely dissociated himself from what's going on with normal people.
Very much not to be fair to him. You may be thinking of Redknapp or carragher, or any former liverpool player basically. Neville has talked the most sense of anyone on sky in my opinion

At least 3 French teams have launched/are going to be launching legal proceedings about the outcome of the season, they only made the decision a few hours ago, opens up a whole can of worms

If they use the same method in England, Spurs and Arsenal will miss out on Europe all together.

Not necessarily, all depends on what happens with Man City's appeal. If it is heard and overturned then yes both Arsenal and Spurs would miss Europe.

If appeal not heard or it gets overturned

Liverpool, City, Leicester, Chelsea in CL
Man U, Wolves, Sheff Utd in Europa

However if City ban is upheld

Livepool, Leicester, Chelsea, Man U in CL
Wolves, Sheff Utd, Arsenal (if PPG), or Spurs (if on current position) in Europa

I think it's a nightmare scenario to be fair. Either outcome will upset people. If players are forced to play they could press for legal action. If teams aren't rewarded for what they did this season they could too. If teams are rewarded and other miss out... Every situation is going to upset people. The only situation that wouldn't would be to resume the season next year but I hope that's not the case.

I like this idea and as the round of 16 wasn’t completed they should start that from the beginning again ;)

Yes please but not being biased at all :D
I do think we have a case to say we shouldn't have played the 2nd leg when other games were cancelled

Regarding European qualification. I honestly and sincerely do not want us to be in it. Only for one sole reason-Covid-19!

Absolutely no argument is going to convince me to be in favour. There is zero chance of a vaccine being ready in time, and the certain clouds over isolation etc. And whilst understanding the reasoning behind PL’s desires to complete the season somehow. I am here in full agreement with THST latest statement.

PSG, who have now won their seventh French title in the last eight years, held a 12-point lead over second-placed Marseille when the season was suspended in March.

The French Professional Football League (LFP) ratified the decision at a meeting on Thursday, two days after French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe suspended sport in the country until at least September.

A points-per-game system, taking into account the performance of clubs in the matches already played, was used to determine the final standings in the Ligue 1 table.

Marseille have qualified directly for the Champions League while third-place Rennes will enter the qualifying rounds, with Toulouse and Amiens relegated.

Lyon have begun legal proceedings

Just listening to radio 5 live and they are talking about what is needed to even train. My goodness it sounds such a ball ache. Players will be up in arms about it. Clubs are concerned players will sue if they get ill. It just sounds so much easier to end it all.

End it all - Life or just the season?

Will football even be enjoyable i mean a silent pitch in some secluded place (may as well be secluded) and players wouldnt even feel like it... i dont know. but to be honest next season will be similiar with no fans or rather very limited fans...

Football behind closed doors holds no interest for me. Football being played to an empty stadium is devoid of any substance.

On the piece about clubs taking testing capacity away from the NHS - I heard today that the testing kits that the NHS use have to be 98% accurate. There’s a company (probably a few) out there that have developed and are trying to flog kits to football clubs, offices etc that are 96% accurate. So that wouldn’t affect the NHS from a testing capacity.

I’m sure you can find these companies online if you google them.

Seen Aguero has aired his concerns now.

Imagine if they get the season up and running and a player goes down with the virus. I think that'd be enough for his teammates and then other players to say "Nah, not doing this any more".

A friend of mine was telling me something about a sound clip/watsap thing doing the rounds which contains conversations between a manager and his players about a possible return to playing. I think it was Bristol Rovers or the other bunch of worzels. Anyway, something was said about the Premier League being finished by playing all the games at St George's Park, two or three games a day, televised.

TBH I only half listened so i'm not sure of anything. I usually write anything social media related off as bollocks and i'm pretty sure this is but some of you thrive on this drivel so I thought i'd mention it :D

It will be the season we finally win the league and none of us will be there to watch any of the games!
