Yeah that'll be great when we cant afford to pay our stadium off, and all our players piss off to other leagues.
Yeah but just think of the naughty away days. Picture 'The Firm' but with better trains and tracksuits.

We needed a new stadium with extra capacity. We did not need a £1billion stadium but then our owners are not interested in the football side of things and built it to make money not to try and win trophies. They made their bed so now they can lie in it.

In terms of players that would affect all teams in the PL and I'm personally fine with that.

It's on the BBC website as well. R number about 1, but they are not worried unless it goes and stays above 1.3.

So can't see any changes yet

? FA say they won’t allow no relegation or no voiding the season. Going to be PPG, the worst result for us?

Glad they’ve agreed against neutral venues. Never understood why it was even being considered... why make 20 teams travel rather than 10 aha

I think they wanted all the teams to isolate in or around London and then use the stadiums in and around the area.
Would mean all teams travel, but none would have to go up and down the country (Newcastle vs Southampton for example).

It might have helped them with testing teams and staff is everyone is closer together.

If there was a World war going on. the season would have been declared void long ago. It's turning into a circus.

Surely Sky and BT have got to think long term. If they pull the money this season it could seriously ruin their future “product”

It’s obvious the Govt arent going to say they can’t play until Aug/Sep, which I think the pl were hoping as it’ll help their legal case with the TB companies.

it’s just such a serious cluster fuck.

I’m totally in the camp that if it’s not safe to play now, it won’t be for the rest of the year (vaccine dependant)

but I don’t really think it’s unsafe to do so now, these aren’t 80 year old men we are talking about, I get the family thing though if they live with older relatives.

it’s the lower leagues and the whole football spectrum we have that worries me, it won’t ever be the same if that money gets pulled and that’s a huge shame

Have you been to a supermarket recently? I was in my local Tesco yesterday morning and there are multiple shelf-stockers in the same aisle, passing each other and being constantly passed by shoppers within the 2m distance recommendations. None of the staff had any PPE except for gloves. None of them are being tested and quarantined each day and none of them have access to onsite medical professionals.

IF all players are tested before a game to ensure they do not have C-19, then staying in a quarantined environment in the hours between the test and the game, the risk will be very, very low of them catching C-19 during the actual game as there shouldn't be anybody on the pitch that they are in contact with who have the virus.

IMO given the amount of precautions that can be put in place for footballers versus the general lack of precautions being put in place in other professions, I think the risk is similar.

I know this might sound silly but every player of every team might have to make their own way to a match, not easy to social distance between themselves on a coach. if that's the case lets hope the players use some brain cells when filling up their motors and use disposable gloves when doing so or when filling up just to get to the training ground.

they might be able to have the covid-19 test regular, but nothing to say they can't catch it on the day. a lot of players and staff are not going to be happy from being away from loved ones if players all need to go into quarantine over a 5-6 week spell.

I really think they should null and void this season and concentrate on how to get next season started, and UEFA need to cancel the comps next season because it really isn't safe to do so. let's just hope if they do decide to restart it doesn't cost lives

Letting the Premier League keep the money could set a very expensive precedent. It would be a PR nightmare for Sky and BT if they let the PL keep the money but got refunds from the Football League and National League. Plus, the ECB, RFU, RFL, PDC, NFL, etc. will be watching and probably be of the opinion that if football doesn't have to give refunds then they shouldn't. Sky and BT aren't going to risk taking such a hit to protect the PL.

I'm surprised that there hasn't been talk of tacking something onto the back end of the deal to allow the tv companies to recoup some of the loss without it immediately impacting on the clubs.
