Again not understanding the whole give Liverpool the trophy, if you're gonna void it void it fairly otherwise keep playing until you reach a fair conclusion after 38 matches.

2. No relegation. Just do a 23 team league next year. Cancel the League Cup for a year to make room for more games. Start the season a bit earlier given the extended layoff. 6 teams go down next season.
One of the many problems with that is that if the European competitions do take place next season that will be a lot of midweek slots taken out of the calendar for 7+ teams which would cause an enormous headache for scheduling. The lower leagues can be a few teams larger because it's easier for them to schedule midweek fixtures.

If I was a Liverpool fan or say if we were in that position, I wouldn't personally want the trophy to be handled to the club. It just wouldn't feel like a proper achievement. That's just me though, maybe others wouldn't care.

You think UEFA would use current coefficient to determine who gets into European spots next season? If that's the case then it would be City, Liverpool, United, Arsenal in CL and us and Chelsea in Europa. Leicester and Wolves are the next on the list.

If City get banned, then that would be great for us in the fact that we would get the 4th spot but that also means that Arsenal get back into the CL and the money that comes with it.

That could well happen actually.

That's only assuming the Champions League retains the same format as before , this season the CL qualifiers started on 25th June, the way things are going at the moment nobody can be sure all the leagues in Europe will finish by this June for next seasons competition, we may have a smaller CL with less teams from each country , it's all speculation.

End the F’ng thing this season! Rather than all this bollocks about one thing or the other! Life is more important than anything right now! Even if next season is moved back couple months before it starts.

fed up of all this talk about them ‘games must be played etc’ at some point. I can’t believe how some of us are still discussing ways to extend. I do understand it is forum, and I do respect all the comments. I just find it humanely bazaar.
Nail on the head Herc, the transfer window can do one as well, football pales into insignificance at the moment.

If they do “Null and void” I would guess legally that is what it says on the tin. Effectively the season never happened therefore would have to refer back to previous season for CL places. Can’t see any other option it’s just a reset.

Can't stand them but I'd feel proper sorry for Leicester with most of these scenarios. Like them or not, they deserve CL next season.

Not sure I feel sorry for them or they deserve to be in Champions League. Since Christmas they have been in rather patchy form. Given form they are in if the league was to resume there is is still a chance they could be caught and miss out on Champions League.
It’s more down to the incompetence of the teams chasing them and not putting a run of results together between Christmas and now that they haven't already been caught. Or in our case a lot closure to them than we are.

I have nothing against Leicester enjoy watching them play under Rodgers.

If the season was Null & Void no teams would be relegated, so Villa would be ok.
Yea, I meant if the season were to be ended as things stand, so that Liverpool were given the title and those in the relegation zone were to be relegated without a fighting chance to finish their final 9 fixtures

I see what you mean, but they have such a lead, they've won it on merit

Personally I think the season has to be finished or the season needs to be voided

You win nothing on merit, I am sure being a spurs fan even when we are almost mathematical assured of something, we can mess it up!

That's what I think too. If it was us, I would hate to just be handed the trophy. Either complete it or void it.

Based on shelfy's logic Aston Villa deserve to be relegated even though they have a game in hand over everyone else and there's 30 points to play for.

No-one deserves anything until all said and done.

If people were honest, there is probably still a little bit of a antipathy from the season that they won the title.

Nah man, fuck Leicester. Worst fanbase in the league by a country mile. Confirmed it for me when they started flashing 'The Sun' logos at Liverpool fans without provocation. They're ****s and deserve nothing. I'd be more overjoyed that Leicester were fucked over than Liverpool if the season is voided.
