I wonder how UEFA will run European competitions next season given the various countries different approaches. It may well be no bad thing to be out of European competition for a season and may not be such a big draw for players who don't fancy the added risk.

I find it hard to see any European competition taking place next season, let alone see how they’re going to finish this year’s competition.

Fairest thing would be to award it to last year’s runners-up :hungry:

Man City will be laughing then if their ban starts from next season. They'll only be out of it for a year!

Haha
Al seriousness, the difference in countries response to covid will cause issues but I can't see Uefa missing out on money. Perhaps only allowing away fans who already live in the country to attend?

I said earlier in this thread that unfortunately F1 have set a precedent here, if they can run an operation of their scale around Europe then football will have no problem. The amount of gear and staff is takes to run just one F1 race is extraordinary.

Non contact though, but I still agree it can be used as a precedent by those pushing the agenda

Even if they have to hold matches in neutral venues, they will find a way of holding tourney.
Way too much money involved, just the same as the Premier League (and likely the other big money Italian, Spanish and German leagues) will also.

Totally inevitable and has been for many weeks. The world cannot come to a standstill for more months or years due to this, business will have to get back very soon, and where the money in football is big, they will do everything they can, within the laws of the individual countries and with guidelines in place, but they will find a way.

You can’t have phased reintroduction of fans, it’s either full capacity of behind closed doors. Part reintroduction of fans means a) which season ticket holders do you tell yourself support is no good here right now’ and b) more importantly, you lose control over the social distancing aspect in a huge quantity.

This is so silly.

I don't get it. For this to start again at all the players need to be tested twice a day. So they can't play unless they've tested negative right before the game. What's the point in doing that if they're then supposed to socially distance during the game?

Are they going to limit man marking and how many people can be in the box from corners as well :wacky:

Could be an attackers dream with no pulling by defenders.

Why will they need to be tested twice a day ?
Plan in Germany is twice a week (before each game) and isolate between them

Our defence and midfield have been practicing this all season!

This is becoming more and more of a farce everyday. A huge asterisk on the season. This sport needs to be saved from itself. Cant change the rules mid season. Jesus christ. Just void this fucking season already.

Are you going to post on every page of this thread until the premier league gives in?

It is farcical. 5 subs massively changes tactics and integrity of competition. It gives a huge advantage to teams with better squads as opposed to a good starting XI. But also a lesser team could just tell their front 5 to chase everything down like mad for 45 minutes and then change them all at HT it’s an absolute joke.

No league has agreed to 5 subs though, whilst you are all wetting the bed yet again guys.

Individual leagues will decide if they want to implement, IFAB have just allowed the possibility if Leagues (and in PL case would need 14 clubs to agree) wish to.
