I am just about calming down from what in my opinion is the worst half of refereeing i have ever seen in my 25 years.

We were very poor first 25 but my god, the players gave everything to get back into this game! I was so so proud of our second half performance, and much credit to harry for a brilliant impulsive tactical change.

The players gave everything for the cause ...Kaboul, Adebayor, Bale and especially modric were amazing. If modric is a man that wants to leave the club can u imagine the heart he would show if he loved us!

Take away the ref and i just wanted to applaud our players and thank them for giving their all. This team is something special and i think sunderland are unlucky if we take our anger out at the lane next week.

Forget the ref a minute, we should be proud of the spirit today. COYS!

Spot on mate, they did give there all to get back into the game, bar the refereeing performance we would have won that game 4-2.
Well done lads, just wake up in the first half next time!!

I was fuming at half time with us, but anyone can be bad for spells of games. Fact is its about how you respond and we responded like a true top side.... as pleased
with the team as i canbe after a loss

Don't forget the management. I don't think anyone would have considered bringing on Bassong but the change in formation made us look like we were at the lane!

3-5-1-1 a new way of putting up decent fights away from home?

Fully agree the passion bale & Modric showed second half was brilliant! Really tried to drag us forward!

Even Defoe who even at the last minute was tracking back into our half to win the ball off their striker who was through sums it up!

This team do not like losing at all think we finally have that winning mentality

Yes, let's look forward to making up for yesterday with a run of quite winnable matches, Chelsea included.

Most of us would have been happy with a point against Stoke after falling two behind. So just treat it as a point lost. There were times in our winning run when we perhaps didn't deserve to win as well.

If we keep winning our matches then losing these "1-pointers" wouldn't hurt so much. COYS!!

Spot on, this is the first time i have been able to comment on the game after being sooo angry. We were dire for the first 25mins, but in the second half you cannot fault the team and the management. We have shown a few times this season at 0-1 down that we dont panic and have confidence in ourselves, but i was surprised at 0-2 down how well we came back. We could and should have won that game.
I can never remember seeing 6 or 7 clear decisions go against one team in one half of a game, it was an appalling display from the officials, but the team kept there heads and kept trying, dispite Stoke's every effort to disrupt our style of play.
The points would have been nice, and i hope it dosent cost us in the ned, but maybe thsi will have a positive effect on the team, as they will know they did enough to win, and on a normal day they would have.

What I liked seeing yesterday was people like Bale, Kaboul and Parker getting angry at the ref yesterday. Shows that they have compassion for the side, which I like.

Well said.

I was angry throughout the game but not down afterwards like I usually am for a defeat.

After we got over our poor start the effort was tremendous and we thoroughly deserved a draw if not more.

The attititude of the players was spot on and notwithstanding the result the performance bodes well for the rest of the season IMO.

Well said. We started really poorly but by the point Kaboul was sent off, we should have been infront and we would have been had it not been for the complete peeenarse of a ref.

Well done to the lads, they dont like loosing.

Well done to HR for working out a system that confused the heck out of Stoke!

This team is truly amazing, quality all over the pitch. Even if one or two have off days, others seem to pick up. I thought yesterday higlighted how important Adebayor is for us, he used the ball well I thought, if only his finishing was a little better. Modric yesterday had an amazing second half, gave the ball away once on a stupid corner but other than that he looked so comfortable on the ball and I felt if the game went on for another 10 minutes he would've made something happen.

Didn't realise VDV and Defoe were playing there. I'd probably prefer VDV to play behind Adebayor, Modric to move to the middle, and Sandro to take up the left-midfield position next to Bale.

Not the way VDV was playing yesterday you wouldn't. You wouldn't want that version anywhere near the pitch, although in a normal circumstance I'd entirely agree with you. We were chasing the game though and it was a great effort in the second half.

Could anyone tell me what players were involved in this 3-5-1-1?

I missed the game.

It was more like a 3-4-1-2 I think but Ade was pulling wide left on every occasion and was having a big influence. Unfortunately VDV didn't get involved in the game as much which was surprising as I thought he would have thrived in that position but it was Modric that was running the game 2nd half.

---Gallas--Kaboul--Bassong--

Walker---Parker--Modric--Bale
