I have to say, whilst Dier is important in allowing us to switch from a 4 to a 3 at the back, a 50m player he ain't. He verges on outright reckless with his distribution far too often.

Exactly...he isn't a DM at all. He is just too slow on the ball in the modern pressing game. He really needs to drop his ego and build his understanding in the back 3.

I think we will see more of the 351 this year with the teams makeup.

To my untrained eye it looks a lot like we're playing very narrow on the right (bar KWP), and every time PSG come down that side KWP is being left exposed.

The kid needs helping out.

Once Onomah came more central nobody was really occupying the space in front of him, in my mind if we're going to do that (which is fine) Dier needs to drop deep and CCV needs to get out wide quicker or Dier needs to come across and offer better protection on that side.

Some decent stuff amongst the expected rusty first game of pre-season in humid conditions stuff.

Attacked pretty well at times with some decent interchanges. One great goal, one bizarre one.

Goals conceded quite soft. CCV got done by being a split second out on his timing. KWP I would like to see a better angle for the second goal, he probably did dawdle back but he would have gone high and wide for the goal kick and we lost the ball immediately centre-left of the pitch. I think both have defended pretty well though when our pressing and compactness hasn't been great as it's pre-season and they've had a lot of open space to defend - particularly KWP.

Onomah has been quite lively and looked assured. Nkoudou has been lively but is so inconsistent and needs more end product and just general coherence to his play. Janssen has been patchy. The rest have done alright.

Entertaining half.

To be fair, it doesn't look like KWP is getting cover on that right
KWP is also way too unaware of potential danger in behind tbf..

He Needs his head on a swivel.

Needs to communicate with Josh if he sees him getting sucked in too narrow and pull him up and out to a good position to cover if he gets doubled up on.

Really like the look of him, though. Will be an exciting player for us.

He always has, from the first game he played there at OT when Benteleb got crucified for a bad pass and Dier did exactly the same thing just didn't get punished.

Wish Poch would just give Onomah a proper fucking CM remit and be done with it instead of fucking him about and having Dier doing his Phil Jones CM impression.

It's only the first preseason game and all that but it's probably no coincidence that Poch left Trippier for when Kane came on

#thfc Oakley-Boothe among a few HT changes. Kane, Trippier, Wimmer, Alderweireld also coming on.

It's a real shame, really. You can see he's ready to explode in that position. He needs the centre of the park to operate properly and get the best out of him.

Huge blind spot for poch atm.

Onomah needs to be given games centrally, he looks like a real box to box prospect. Would like to see alli eriksen and GKN behind Kane for at least 20
Minutes. Be good to see how he links with the first choice players. Janssen was very poor
