Could be a cracker this.

Or it could be 90 minutes of us playing catenaccio. Either way I couldn't care less as long as we get the job done! Germany have a shit record against us, but they're a confident side at the moment and will be well up for this. They've never beaten us in a tournament match but it could well change today. We need to be on top of our game.

Forza Italia!

90 minutes of catenaccio could easily become 120 minutes. I just hope that doesn't happen, because we've seen enough snooze-fests in the KO stages.

Italia italia italia!!!

Going to be an epic match but i feel us italians will soak it all up and then sting them with periods of play that have them all over the shop. Both poland and ukraine had good period in which germanys midfield were pretty dis organised and had opportunities.
It will be a tougher match than spain but italy will fight til the end. Italy 1-0. If i see de rossi starting then italy win for sure

Love the critisism italy get in regards to sometimes being boring or not easy on the eye...the fact is we will do anything to win. Whether thats pulling shirts, defending for our lives (its an art ya know) or timewasting.....its ALLLL match play guys!
No de rossi which is a big blow, and for sure germany will dominated the ball and territory. But credit where credits due we played an awesome game v spain all things considered and the talent at their disposal. We beat them at their own game and like conte said at the time....italy can survive without the ball, spain can not.

What will be will be, for sure this game is far more worthy of the final than germany/wales/portugal.

Really enjoyed watching Italy this tournament.

But I put money on Germany to win the tournament so hoping for them to go through.

Will be interesting to see conte's approach in the middle of the park. Kroos apparently always passes to the left? And im not entirely sure khediera is quite the dm that most bill him up to be!
I can perhaps see italy allowing the germans the wide areas right up until the final 3rd when defending and flooding the central areas, looking to spring forward on the counter. The fullbacks are crucial to this system and have willing runners for sure.

Germany have brought in Howedes for Draxler. Looks like they're trying to combat our 3-5-2 with a back 3 of their own. Things could get very congested in the midfield today.

Hoping it works in our favour. Not sure if Germany or German clubs are used to a back 3 formation.

Interesting..... im quite encouraged about them going 3-5-2. Italy play the system like water off a ducks back but germany? Im not sure they will be quite as well drilled for them to work it as well as italy. Their wing backs im not sure ever play like this before?

Come on Italy!

I'm on them at 13/2 to win the whole thing :D

This could really be a cracking game.

Khedira is definitely not a DM.

Khedira is definitely not a DM.

Khedira is pure box to box, always has been. That's what he's been doing for Juve this season.

Looks like Germans aren't going 3 at the back. Howedes on the right, probably to try and contain the full backs.

Edit: I could be wrong. BBC say Germany are 3 at the back, but Rai says 4. Fuck it, who cares what they play, as long as we stop them.

Any idea how they played when the two met a few months ago in a friendly? Sky said it was 3-4-3. but then they had Italy as a 3-4-3 too.

I think if Germany go four at the back Kroos will be exposed badly.

Yes italy were experimenting with 343 with many in experienced newbies. There was no buffon and bbc partnership and germany dominated and scoreline was true reflection.
