Some questions I would like to ask the spurs board:

Before the wheeling and dealing started we needed an experienced centre half a midfield leader and a left winger. Where are they?

Steed Malbranque and Robbie Keane were our best players last season and were both sold - why?

The season starts middle of August, why are members of our FIRST TEAM bought after that date?

Why have we not given squad numbers to 4/5 players? (Rocha, Boateng, Taraabt etc)

In the space of 8 months we have signed 3 right backs and 2 right midfielders why?

Why was Martin Jol sacked?

How long before another knee jerk reaction and Ramos/Commoli get sacked?

Why can our super fit players not play two games in a week?

Why have we not got a settled first eleven?

I could go on but I I have got better things to do.

joe lewis must be looking to sell the club, and therefore the bigger picture doesn't matter to levy anymore. forward thinking before, now utterly wreckless, he needs to be replaced by joe lewis or whoever owns spurs, because this credit crunch means there isn't going to be a takeover in the forseeable future, and for the sake of spurs, the boardroom rot has to stop.

He's not a member here but I can help.
1, Corluka can cover CB and DM, quality in those positions doesn't grown on trees as we have seen with out failed attempts (Kaboul, Boateng, Zokora). Giovani and Bale are both capable LM players, not many teams play with two wingers these days and we already have two england international right wingers.

2, Malbranque was deemed surplus by Ramos who was happy to let him go as he presumably felt he had enough quality for the LM position. Keane handed in a transfer request so all you can do at that point is try to get the best deal, which we did. Keane is currently banging them in for Liverpool though.

3, Difficulties in negotiations and uncertainty regarding the squad up until deadline day. It's one o the many drawbacks of having a window shutting after the season starts. Just ask Man United, surely they will have wanted Berbatov pre 1st September?

4, They have been deemed 'not good enough' by both Kendall and Ramos

5, We sold Chimbonda and had only Gunter, a rising star but still 19 year old fit to start the season, we therefore bought Corluka as he can cover a wealth of positions, the type of player every squad needs (tink O'Shea for United). Hutton is still injured by the way.

6, Because after 2 top 5 finishes we made over £40m of investment at which point Jol said his squad was 'good enough' we then started terribly and Jol looked to have lost the dressing room. For all his previous qualiy, he didn't appear capable of running this team anymore.

7, 6 months

8, They can but this is a squad game, or do you want everyone to leave because they can't get past our 1st 11?

9, We shouldn't 'need' one, not these days, you see Chelsea, Liverpool, even teams like Villa changing things all the time and it doesn't make a difference. We don't have a recognised 1st 11 because we're 1 month into the season.

10, This was a rubbish questionnaire, but I have nothing better to do on my lunch break.

joe lewis must be looking to sell the club

Do you know who actually owns our club?

and therefore the bigger picture doesn't matter to levy anymore.

I think it does, considering my first question.

forward thinking before, now utterly wreckless

Which includes a sustainable business plan, with a club not geared to the hilt which turns a profit.

he needs to be replaced by joe lewis or whoever owns spurs

Ah, you've answered my first question.

because this credit crunch means there isn't going to be a takeover in the forseeable future

Ah, Daily Mail reader I see. If you notice any recent trends in take-overs (proposed Newcastle and Liverpool; actual Manchester City and QPR; Chelsea) are all individuals of high net worth, at the moment from more Eastern corridors of the globe. So no, the credit crunch doesn't impact those with money, as they have no need to finance deals through debt.

and for the sake of spurs, the boardroom rot has to stop.

Well done James. I'm not one to pick on people, but you could win an award for probably the most inaccurate understanding of a) Spurs, b) Spurs' Structure and c) the business world.

But otherwise I just completely disagree with everything you say

Before the wheeling and dealing started we needed an experienced centre half a midfield leader and a left winger. Where are they?

Well Mr Waffles, I never deemed them a priority, therefore I never sanctioned the moves.

Steed Malbranque and Robbie Keane were our best players last season and were both sold - why?

Robbie wanted to move to his boyhood club. Who am I to stop true love? Plus that Russian guys better. Damn pesky agents.
Steed was replaced by the promising and better Giovani Dos Santos. He's really a lot better. He's also left footed.

The season starts middle of August, why are members of our FIRST TEAM bought after that date?

Because players were sold after that date.

Why have we not given squad numbers to 4/5 players? (Rocha, Boateng, Taraabt etc)

Because they're very naughty boys. Ask Juande.

In the space of 8 months we have signed 3 right backs and 2 right midfielders why?

An abundance of left sided players.

Why was Martin Jol sacked?

Shit manager.

How long before another knee jerk reaction and Ramos/Commoli get sacked?

Till you pricks start doing something drastic like boycotting.

Why can our super fit players not play two games in a week?

Because the human body doesn't work like that.

Why have we not got a settled first eleven?

Ask Juande. He'll probably say something about late transfers and the fluidity of the modern game.

I could go on but I I have got better things to do.

No you don't.

i'm not gonna explain it to you stoof, if you can't work it out that is your problem. i'll just say,if levy was as interested in the future of spurs as he was two years ago, he would have handled the squad overhaul this summer much better.

Some questions I would like to ask the spurs board:

Before the wheeling and dealing started we needed an experienced centre half a midfield leader and a left winger. Where are they?

We were clearly after Veloso(midfield leader) and Capel(left winger), however the deals fell through. I dont think there were any other players within our reach which would have been a significant inprovment on what we have, so we decided to save the money until a better opportunity comes along. I think Corluka is considered a CB first and foremost, and should Ledley get back to full fitness, thats enough.

Steed Malbranque and Robbie Keane were our best players last season and were both sold - why?

£20m for a player who wanted to leave and doesn't fit into Ramos' style of play is good money. I'd rather that than see Juande doing what Rafa is doing with Keano. Not sure about Steed, I think the board probably regret letting him go, but at the time they probably thought we'd get a replacement.

The season starts middle of August, why are members of our FIRST TEAM bought after that date?

Unfortunatley thats the way the tranfer window works. We had no control over when United were going to put in the bid that we all knew they would. There wouldnt have been any point bringing in Pav if Berba had stayed. I think we did extremely well to get Modric, Gio and Gomes in as early as we did TBH.

Why have we not given squad numbers to 4/5 players? (Rocha, Boateng, Taraabt etc)

Good question. Perhaps Juande doesnt want them.

In the space of 8 months we have signed 3 right backs and 2 right midfielders why?

Gunter is a fantastic prospect, one for the future. Hutton will be our RB for many years(until United come in for him). We needed a player with better delivery than Lennon, Bentley was that man, we now have 2 very good players battling for the right wing position, both with very different attributes. Who's the other Right midfielder?

Why was Martin Jol sacked?

It was felt that he'd taken the club as far as he could. There will always be differing opinions on this. There were many who agreed that he should go. Its done now and we have Juande, Jol's not coming back so we need to support the staff we have right now.

How long before another knee jerk reaction and Ramos/Commoli get sacked?

Very long. The board have complete faith in Juande and we are not Newcastle.

Why can our super fit players not play two games in a week?

Most of them can. There are a few who didnt get a full pre-season though. Ledders is anyones guess, one minute he seems ok the next he's left out of the squad. I think they're just being very cautious with him, and they are right to do so.

Why have we not got a settled first eleven?

We have a lot of new players and it's going to take a while for Juande to asses who worls best where, and what system is going to suit the group. Rome wasn't built in a day.

I could go on but I I have got better things to do.

Good for you.

I'm not Levy, obviously. I do have alot more faith in our staff that some do though. The vast majority of decisions that are made within the club are made with the clubs best interests at heart. Sometimes things dont go to plan, we'll bounce back, and the mood amongst fans will gradually improve.

I would only ask the one question:

Why did you start running a club where the fans are total twats with no understanding of football or business, yet alone both?

Oh dear. How have you come to that conclusion?

So he ddn't sanction moves for:

£14m Russian Striker with 3 goals in the Euros and more than a 1 in 2 record for Spartak Moscow

£15m England International right-winger with a great record for assist/final ball which we lacked last year

£16.5m Croatian international midfielder, highly sought after

£8.5m Croatian international rb/utility player to cover many of our problem positions when owing to injury

£5m Mexican international LEFT FOOTED attacking midfielder/winger/second striker

£8m Brazilian highly rated goalkeeper

Well, I never.

Levy works his fingers to the bone for THFC. Do you not think that a company such as ENIC could invest in something less time consuming in an industry that generates more profit? do you not honestly think that?

If you don't then I'm putting you on ignore (the first one on my list, ever).

Dear Mr Waffles

I can answer all of your questions with one paragraph:

We are a selling club that is looking for a formula to get top 4 while having a young squad. This makes the club look very appealing to potential buyers (players have sell on value) because I want to sell the club to foreign investors and make a huge profit. That is why Jol was sacked, he wasn't going to make top 4 with that start and that is what I need to sell.

Yours faithfully,

D L

You then have to ask why clubs like Newcastle and Manchester City are permanent sources for take-overs, yet a club with its books in shape in London isn't the first club on everybody's list? [I give you the actual answer: it's because Levy doesn't want to sell].

But then if you ask that question and get that square-bracketed answer, I fully expect your brain to explode in some sort of mess, and that's like a health and safety hazard, man.

Spurs are for sale otherwise we would be starting preseason with four decent strikers and 4 decent centrebacks, 3 decent defensive mids, and keane and berba on the sidelines with their futures being negotiated.

spurs are too expensive however, and now with the collapse of lehmann bros also, things are not going according to plan for levy n co.

at least we have 16 or so good players.

So, apart from signing the cheques, Levy is supposed to over-rule the opinions on potential acquisitions of both the Sporting Director and the first team coach?

People say Levy knows fuck all about football, but then ask him why footballing questions like the thread starter?

And it is completely illogical to suggest in the same thread that Enic want to sell Spurs and that the man they have in put in charge to run Spurs is not as interested as he was two years ago.

You do know that levy has a shareholding in Enic, the company that owns Spurs, so if he wanted to maximise Enic's returns, and hence his own personal return, he would try to sell the club for the most amount of money, which would involve us getting into the top four.

Levy doesn't. how could anybody else?

Suggest you buy a copy of April 2007 Hotspur magazine, the way our transfer are organised are fantastically set out in it.

Oh shit, Stoof called me out on my lack of business knowledge. I know, *types www.bbc.co.uk; clicks on Business; reads headline*, this will fool him: "a topical headline". I'm so smart. S-M-R-T.
