UEFA should be bending over backwards to get as many PL teams in the Europa League as possible, for the competition's sake...

Here is the section from the UEFA Euorpa League regulations that deals the number of teams that each country can have in the tournament (Section 3.02):

"Associations are represented on the following basis." (England has three teams.)
"....c. three representatives: the winner of the domestic cup and the two clubs which finish the top domestic championship immediately below the club(s) which qualify for the UEFA Champions League.

In special circumstances, the winner of another official domestic competition maybe entered for the UEFA Europa League in place of the lowest ranking top domestic championship representative referred to in Paragraph 3.02(c), provided such a competition has been approved by UEFA before the start of the season in question...."

So England gets three teams in the Europa (two from the cups and one from the league). However, now it gets interesting, because there is also this (Section 3.07):
"The UEFA Europa League titleholder is admitted to the UEFA Champions League group stage. If the UEFA Europa League title holder qualifies for the UEFA Europa League through one of its domestic competitions, the number of places to which its association is entitled in the UEFA Europa League is decreased by one. The created vacancy is filled accordingly with priority for the UEFA Europa League given to domestic cup winners (in accordance with the entry stage as per the access list)."

I've read this, as if Arsenal win the game cup we would have the final Europa spot, where as wolves would finish out of them... So wolves would have not qualified for Europa. So we would still have 3 spots.. If they had finished 6th and won, then it would have meant the europa spot would had gone back to UEFA to be allocated...

Arsenal win the FA Cup and Wolves win the Europa league = Wolves go into the UCL, Arsenal go to EL group stage and we get demoted to EL qualifying round.

Arsenal win the FA Cup and Wolves do not win the Europa League = Arsenal take the EL group stage spot, we get demoted to EL qualifying round and Wolves miss out on European football altogether.

That's how I've understood it so far at least.

People bending over backwards to find a way to worry about us not getting in a competition I'm not certain any of us truly 100% want us to be in. :ROFLMAO:

So after United draw. If we won the next 8 games we would be in CL

5 wins, 1 defeat 2 draws

Could have been a huge turnaround had we done it
