Didn't 20 people vote Chiriches MOTM in the last game? And 2 voted Kane in this game. Not everybody takes this poll, this board or may I say life so seriously?

Yeah over the last couple of weeks I have been surprised to find out just how many posters take the MOTM poll seriously and use it as some sort of barometer and to support arguments. I give a joke vote 99% of the time and I'm sure so do loads of others.

He air-kicked the cross, then blocked the shot to make up for the mistake. It's fine though, we needn't worry, it doesn't count as a chance for them.
I stand corrected, as having re watched the match, I will concede that it was a shot at goal as oppose to a cross

Ok I give it a try:

Lloris - 7 - shaky contribution at times, otherwise solid and saved our arse against Wanyama

Vertonghen - 7.5 - liked the look today of him.
Kaboul - 6.5 - solid apart from one dodgy clearance who Wanyama nearl converted
Naughton - 6 - nothing wrong or outstanding the 30 minutes. Hope he is fit soon again, dont want to see Chiriches anywhere near the team
Rose - 6.5 - had a lot of work to do and was sometimes a bit in trouble. But dealt okay with it. Better than last season

Capoue - 7 - good game, protected well, gives away a freekick too easy at times. Expect a bit more work forward
Mason - 7 - tidy and faultless. Actually a player with a brain

Lamela - 6 - again a mixed bag. Nice quick passes and ideas but a lot of things dont come off and he is still without a goal
Chadli - 6.5 - nearly scored. Pretty nice assist and 3,4 more nice moments but there should be a bit more
Eriksen - 7.5 - best game of the season so far for him.

Adebayor - 6 - yeah it was better than last times but never a real threat for Southampton and way too frustrating in terms of fouls and offside situations. Maybe play him against Man City but then I really would like to see Soldado or Kane given a run.

Dier - 7 - out of position but not out of place: Like him.

Dembele + Kane = No ratings
Excellent summary and totally agree with everything bar Lloris. I actually voted him MOTM as, once again, he came to our rescue to ensure we secured the win. We're incredibly lucky to have one of the world's best goalkeepers.

I thought Lamela did well again too, his passing on the counter is excellent and he's growing into a key player in the team now.

I agree but for the top 3 voted players it is pretty bang on

Yes that's why in the MOM poll, with the exeption of Naughton who went off injured Ade was a firm last. So just my opinion? No the whole of SC voters called the same thing. Look at the early after game ratings, Ade was bottom of the pile.

Cue match of the day...

All of a sudden Ade did well, is our most important striker / player.

In fact in the player poll even Kane got half the votes Ade got. There was a huge shift in opinion once Motd was aired. Most of the voting was early after the match by those who went, watched live on TV or stream.

So while you look at my opinion as absolutist or whatever, read the thread upto the time Motd was aired and you will see a different story.

The poll in this thread shows that it is not just my opinion, but of most people that voted.

You've missed the point in about two different ways.

I'm not saying he was out MoM. It's not about whether he was hero or zero but what he contributed.

It's also not about how many people thought Kane was better. That just proves you are not the only one who makes posts based in prejudice and bias.

I couldn't care less about who voted what. It's about an observation on how Adebayor played which you appear unable to make objectively.
