Mourinho"s tactics will always give me heart palpitations, although today they (Tactics) came off.

Much better second half where Ndombele's time added on first half magic was the catalyst for our turn around.

Who do you give MOTM to? Kane who had four assists with his goal, or Son who converted those four assists into goals?

Sonny my MOTM

Oh, and the referee David Coote need to do his homework as the new rules would dictate the penalty given to them was never one.

Kane and Son that's the question. I vote for Kane though.

Sorry, I think I need to add. I know we won beautifully. But VAR + Hand Ball rule is ruining football now. I feel sick. This is not just about us. But there will be more controversial cases like this. All IFAB guys are real idiots.

Gave it to Kane. Great second half. Destroyed the Southampton defense with those passes

If ever two players deserved to share it, it was today. Both on fire in the second half. Kane shades it for me but I’ve changed my mind several times.

Gave it to Kane but an honourable mention to Lo Celso. Thought he was really good in the second half.

Gave it to Son as I thought he worked hard for the whole 90 minutes making himself available and running at the opposition. I think his work rate got us back into the game. But Kane was a revelation with his passing

It's hard to not give this one to Son, but Kane's assists were nothing short of exceptional.

Kane MOTM for me.

Son MOTM, putting away four one on ones is really impressive. Kane obviously also incredible in the 2nd half.

But what a strange fucking game. We won 5-2 but I feel like we should have lost that game in the 1st half.

Our midfield is a disaster. Ndombele showed flashes of the player he can be but I feel like a lot of Spurs fans get distracted by the odd brilliant moment and look past how ineffective he was during the rest of the 1st half. But even though Ndombele got hooked, Winks was much worse. I just don't think Winks is good enough. Winks probably only stayed on the pitch over Ndombele because Winks runs more. But he is such a weak player, never wins tackles, almost never does anything brave with the ball. He can't start. I just pray that Ndombele can manage to up his stamina and defensive game so we can have him and Lo Celso on the pitch at the same time with Hojbjerg.

A game of two halves eh?

Positives...

Lloris deserves a mention, kept us in the game in the first half. Great display.

PEH, he was pretty much a one man midfield in that game defensively and I thought second half he improved. Good signs moving forward.

Tanguy - what a player we have on our hands, only 45, but too good not to play.

Kane and son - world class

Jose - sorting the shit show out

Negatives

Winks was very poor, we need another cm.

Doherty defensively is a worry, still settling.

First half team defending.

Davinson was far too passive. Maybe just lacking a bit of match sharpness.

One final thing, my enjoyment of the game was improved dramatically by not seeing Sissoko.

First half spurs were amazing, not many sides can make Southampton look like they have a midfield of pirlo and messi.

Was surprised to see Winks and Moura come out after the break, but it worked. LoCelso made a huge difference.

Hopefully we see a more cohesive midfield like we did in the second half ongoing.

Genuinely cannot distinguish motm between Son and Kane. I went with son as the quality of the finishing was world class. Splitting hairs though.

What changed the match was Gio coming on, not Ndombele going off and the fact that our forwards timed their runs better than in the first and Soton kept their naive high line the entire match.

Defensively we were still shite in the second. Even though we won today there is a lot to worry about.

Some good ratings. The 10s from the attack and the subs shouldn't hide the dross everywhere else.

Its impossible to do ratings for both halves together. Im gonna do 1 for each half.

1st half
7.5 - Ndombele
7 - Kane, Son, Lloris
5 - everyone else bar Winks and Dier
4 - winks, Dier

2nd half
9 - Kane, Son
8 - Lo Celso
7 - everyone else
