No words. Just like what Poch use to do, Jose only reacted after they took the lead when it was obvious by all that his tactics with his chosen personnel was not working.

Players that started for us in that game that should have no business starting for a top 4 club: Winks, Dier, Tanganga, Davies, Gazzaniga, Aurier, Lucas, probably Dele at this point.

Lo Celso is playing well overall but no goals or assists in 17 premier league games has to get better.

After the Jota goal we were absolutely anonymous. Subs should have been made earlier. Dier was constantly flat footed but there is a serious problem with our shape that allows us to be overrun at will almost.

Am I the only one who thinks Bergwijn looks uncomfortable after the injury? Not looking sharp after that

I think I said it few years ago. When Dier plays DM, we say his best position is CB. When he plays CB, we say his best position is DM. Just go.

Parrott on at 91 minutes is criminal.

Gazza- 6

Dire -1
Guaranteed Liability, plays, runs, thinks and moves in slow motion not a PL standard player anymore, what was he attempting for the first goal
DIV'ies - 1 Again another guaranteed, offers nothing majority of the time, cant cross 99.9% of the time, again not a PL standard player
Sanchez - 6/7 Tidy but he was playing next to a donkey doesnt help
Tanganga - 5 he did better than Dire and Div'ies combined (not hard though) I give him benefit of the doubt for first goal plus dire non acrobatics would have confused anyone for the first, marked him down a bit for the 3rd goal, very naive to slide in there that gave sulky Jim perfect opening, TBF he did quite decent outside of that
Serge - 7.5 great goal, had a decent game today, shocking he was taken off and Dire DIV'ies got to stay on

Lo Celso - 7
Winks - 6
ok but that was it, give the captaincy i thought he would have tried to take the game by reigns but did average although JM tactics doesnt help

Dele - 5 Defo Dele Bro
Bergs - 6 - did well for the goal following up, outside that did ok but wasnt really a threat
Lucas - 6.5 worked like a dog, feel sorry for him

JM - 0 Poor tactics, poor selections ,poor decisions and poor game management

Lo Celso - 8
Aurier - 7
Winks - 6
Tanganga - 3
Everyone else - 5

Jose - 1. Whats the fuckin point of putting Parrott on in the 90th minute? Whats the bloody point? And making subs reactively rather than proactively? Whats your excuse this time in the press conference?

I'm actually happy with that performance atleast we played well, didn't stop passing and actually looked good and dominated for most the game , it goes either way in a game like that , that is so open. Was a good game to watch two good sides. Our best performance under mourinho. We didn't deserve to lose that one.

Agree just missing Harry and son would have won otherwise

We were allowed to play by Wolves, Wolves were not the typical wolves of this season and i thinks thats partly down to them playing on thurs. they were not aggressive, they were not pressing, they were not high intensity, you could say Wolves manager his tactics were exactly what JM is trying to employ for weeks , yet they managed it and we still cant. We had perfect opp to take this game but we played slow allowed Wolves time and we didnt pressure them at all , we played straight into their hands, we made it a nice easy slow paced game for them as they were feeling effects of their thursday game, they probably couldnt believe their luck we didnt make it hard for them at all

The main problem was how we defended, individual performance you cant do a lot about but there were also systemic problems throughout the 90 mins.

It looked like a shape and team thrown together at the last minute, and predictably looked very shaky.

Always my problem with 'three' at the back is that immediately it becomes a back five when you lose the ball, and centre backs do not like their 'wing'backs pushing up and leaving them man for man so you always have half your team across the backline. We then had three forwards who half got in behind the ball at times, but weren't diligent with this and didn't really help out, do a job on a flank etc. and get into any real defensive shape. Then two small central midfielders in between trying to cover vast space.

Very much 5-2-3. And from that it was just total confusion. Wingbacks still tucking round ultra narrow. Wingbacks not pushing up on theirs. Centre backs sometimes stepping out of the backline to challenge their inside forwards, sometimes not. Our central midfielders often having to go out to the flanks, unsure who they were picking up (their centre mids? their inside forwards?), and also often outnumbered when someone dropped in the pocket. And three forwards doing....... I don't know what. Stood upfield waiting for us to get the ball back.

I think quite a lot of the shite fed directly from that. You'd often see two players on the same men, then none, players getting in each others way. No harmony in what we were trying to do. And quite a lot of chaos. Individuals then didnt do their jobs, for all three goals we had more than enough to stop them but it was all too easy.

Wolves played exactly the same shape, with its strengths/weaknesses, and at times we exposed them in the same ways...... But they have played it for several seasons now and understand it much better. The key to winning the game was they were much better in transition, able to catch us out and get the ball and go at our backline and use those opportunities, and we ultimately came out on the wrong side of a very open game.

Ive not been mourinhos biggest fan so far, been very painful to watch and think we have been quite lucky in the games we won, and we have started games very poorly. But today we started very brightly and was actually passing the ball around, one , two touch stuff. Was lovely to see, and we was in control of the game. After letting them back in , with a bit of dodgy defending? Maybe tanganga could of done better? I'm not gazzas biggest fan in goal either, but to be fair to us we kept passing the ball and didn't just start hoofing it up, we kept passing and we got rewarded , with that amazing goal from aurier who I thought played well even before the goal, he even defended better today. Some greats crosses too. 2nd half was similar and we tried to keep passing but we run out of ideas, and again wolves scored that great goal by Jimenez who's a great player, he totally done tanganda who I do think is a good player but he's young he's gonna make mistakes. The game was open and I think wolves did do a job and was happy for us to have the ball, they played more like a mourihno side and we played more like a poch team and in the end we lost , but could of gone either way. Yes a disappointing result but alot of positives out of that game atleast we kept the ball and looked like a team. Shame cause that was our best performance under the so called special one....

I do agree with this aswell I do think Wolves had a plan and were happy with us passing it around, but was nice to see us playing football, actually passing it around and actually being in control of the game for once. Wolves scored with their three shots on target , we were the better side for most of that game and that aurier goal was lovely , gotta go up there in one of my fav goals. If our defending was a bit better at times , even tho I was happy with dier in his best position I think we would of won that game.

Aurier motm
In the absence of our usual playmaker alderweireld, Aurier frequently crossed the ball into dangerous areas and scored too.
Sanchez, my usual motm doesn't shine as a wide right CB at all.
Dier was the senior CB today and underwhelmed. Played very deep like a sweeper which at this rate is exactly what he'll be doing this time next year.
Tanganga had a good battle with AdamAnt and helped set up the comic moment of the game that saw Adam cradling his tree trunk sized arm after a very innocuous challenge.

Until we stop shipping 3 goals at home, there is not much point talking of the rest of the players except to say we know "studs" Lo Celso is the talent, and we need to feed the ball to him again and again. He didn't get enough of the ball today.

Usual reason is time wasting. Maybe JM such a serial winner that he thought we were winning

Lo Celso is our main man. He is always available, and always probing and looking to create and link play. I dread to think how bad we would be without him right now.
