Real Madrid have turned down the chance to sign Dele Alli as part of a deal to send Gareth Bale to Tottenham this summer, according to reports. Alli had been offered up to Madrid as a makeweight in the deal for Bale, but Los Blancos decided they weren’t interested.

That doesn't seem true to me. Why would we offer Dele?

100% agree. All the talk has been that it's probably a loan or a 'free' transfer with Madrid,Bale and us sorting the wages between us. No doubt we are going to be paying something for him, but clearly it's a pretty good deal financially as Levy has actually sanctioned it ! Seems absolute nonsense that we would suddenly then decide to chuck a player worth anywhere from £60m to £80m their way as a sweetener. Could understand if perhaps Madrid enquired about a swap involving both Reguilon and Bale for Dele, but not for us to initiate it.

Sounds rubbish, but maybe the key message is there is not room for both Dele and Bale in the side.

Hope not, but I can quite easily believe the rumours he and Jose don't really get along

Yes yes yes every headline is always bollocks, innit?
I think it makes very much sense to sell Dele at this point. It's financially not a sound business to be in the entertainment industry over the next year, so to sell a player that just doesn't entertain that much anymore at a very, very large profit is just what a healthy business would do.
