Ive played on a pitch with a sunken tree stump in the corner in my over 30 league that had a better surface than that.

They were chatting about this on the radio today and putting forward the idea that we offer to pay for the laying of a new pitch before the game. Nice gesture to a lower league club but more importantly we won't be risking twisted ankles for half our team by playing on that. I thought it an idea that would never happen at first but how much would Kane or Eriksen twisting their ankle and being out for 8 weeks hurt us? How much is a new pitch? 50k cover it?

That's an absolute joke. Don't get me wrong, I'm the first one to get wound up by players using lower-league pitches as an excuse for not turning up, but there has to be some sort of minimum standard for what's acceptable on a professional football pitch. They're in League 1 so they've got absolutely no excuse for the state of that. I've played in parks with better pitches than that.

Poch owns a farm in Argentina apparently so I’m sure he’ll be right at home.

Seriously, that is a joke and looks more like something you drive a combine harvester on.

Even easier would be to just move the match to Wembley. That benefits Rochdale too because they'll make more money from a game at Wembley than they will playing at home. We could even offer to pay for free coaches to bring the Rochdale fans down.

Like I say, easier, cheaper for us, and makes more money for Rochdale. Win-win really. I suppose you can say it's not fair for them to lose their home advantage but surely there has to be some rule about if the home side are unable to provide suitable facilities to host the game then it can be moved elsewhere?

The thing that’s bugging me is how did it get deemed ok to play on the other night?

Supposedly it just about passed the inspection but then a pitch invasion after the game made things even worse, and the weather has just compounded the problem.

This happened a few years ago when Arsenal played Farnborough

It looks like something I would expect Borat to be playing football on :ROFLMAO: the ploughed fields at the back of mine look like a better surface to play on than that!

50k lol . A new deso pitch is 750k. Well that’s what Newports cost in summer.
