5 pts behind Liverpool
5 pts behind Man U.

The two teams that finished closest to us last season.

Its a marathon, not a sprint, but we haven't even started the race....

Forget Austin, Forget Berahino, play the season for mid table. Consolidation. Transition. Money in the bank, etc. That's what we want now isn't it? More cash?

Jesus wept.

Surely it's just posturing?
Agreed. Do the BBC even read what they've written? They report that WBA say he's not for sale, but in the same breath they report that WBA value him at £25m. I'm sure he's on his way to Spurs but West Brom have to make it look as though they put up a fight...

ps I notice the Guardian have reported that we've bid £18m, which seems a bit more likely. Throw in Fazio going the other way and you've got the makings of a deal..

Didn't we just know that Levy would offer below the value and their asking price knowing they wouldn't accept. He doesn't think Barahino is worth more than 15 mil but he wants that for TOWNSEND who's not worth more than 7 or 8 mil.
Any good striker is worth 20 plus at least. I think Berahino would be a great fit with Kane.

Well this was not expected!!!!

Posted on their official website;

Chairman - We have no interest in selling Saido

“However, the prospect of selling Saido is simply not on our agenda.

“We are going forward with Saido very much in our plans and still striving to add players to improve the balance of our squad.”

What else do we expect, two weeks to go and you bid for a teams number one striker.... pathetic!!!
Is like someone coming in with a bid for Hugo now knowing it will be difficult to get a replacement especially if the manager already has him in his plans for the forth coming season.

None of the above says he is not for sale. In fact the BBC interview admits as much.

the link does, i didn't want to post the whole content, however when a chairman states the prospect of selling is simply not on their agenda; that says it all.

Just painful, just plain painful to be in the same situation every bleeding time.

This is good news, we've made an official move. This will show that West Brom are fighting to keep their man so when he is sold they can say they didn't have a choice. Things are officially moving now.

Do you honestly think we've 'left' it this late and haven't been working on this transfer throughout the window?

working on a target and placing a bid are two different things.

We've known they wanted 20m+ for ages. The price goes up nearer the end of the window when clubs know you're desperate and have money, and they don't particularly want to sell. Not rocket science
