Yeah I think a lot of people just assume this if a CB is under 6'1" or so.
Young defensive Centre Backs are always a bit of a gamble as they can both win and lose you games at any moment due to inexperience. But in these circumstances I am all for getting a few high potential aged 18-21 defensive options in. Musacchio looks increasingly unlikely, and our current options most noticeably being Dawson and Kaboul don't look cut out for the first team any more. With the new stadium coming in, we can't afford to buy already recognized players for high fee's like our rivals can (Lovren and possibly Manolas as examples), which is why I think a gamble on youth could be a good option.
Pochettino works well with young players and I feel he could get a young defender to perform better than he actually his. I think this guy will cost around £8-12 million, and I feel he could be a longer term option to Fazio. I'm all for signing him providing the fee is realistic. If Chiriches is actually going and the unpredictability of Dawson and Kaboul, I don't think a need for a Centre back has ever been higher.
