No way they will let him go on a perm, would be a loan. Could be a great player and think he would suit the PL. Still, loans are not ideal UNLESS we are putting most of our money into a big game player... which we wont.

Unlike Delafeou and several years ago with Dos Santos, the next batch of Barca youngsters are highly talented and have already been involved with the 1st team squad this season. There's 2 or 3 of them who look capable of playing at the highest level and highly doubt Barca will be looking to sell them. It would nice to bring any of them to Spurs but there's no point if it's only a loan with no option to buy as we'll be back to square one the following summer.

What if it's a purchase, but with a high buyback clause?

I've seen Real Madrid use this strategy a few times.

Not sure Levy would be game for that, but we'll see.

Good luck to him at Barca where he's "only" got the following players in front of him for his "spot" in the team: Neymar, Suarez, Padro, Deulofeu....

The buy back values tend to be around what the buying club paid for the player and not considerably more.

Deulofeu is on his 2nd/3rd consecutive loan and expected to sign permanently for them in the summer. Whereas Pedro is reportedly for sale.

Yes, I am aware that Pedro is said to want to leave (he's even been linked to Spurs recently ) and even though Deulofeu seem to out on loan forever he's still rated above Ramirez, so as per now he's their number 4 choice

I saw him play against us in the NextGen a couple of years ago. He played like a man amongst boys. I remember telling my mate that he already looked like a proper footballer, not a just a prospect. He scored twice.

The other stand out player in that game by the way... Alex Pritchard.

Pritchard was the second best player on the pitch that night @Sportformation, I agree. And that is huge when playing Barca, I'm interested to see how he fits in next season.

Apparently in the away leg, Pritchard was the best player on the pitch (we won 4-1). Onomah also played and would have been 15 at the time.

Coulthirst got a hat trick I think, didn't he? I'm remember Onomah being on the bench for the home game, but couldn't remember if he came on or not

Yeah Coulthirst got a hat trick and Pritchard got the other. Onomah came on in the 2-0 loss in about the 60th or 70th minute and started in the win.
