This thread depresses me. We are ripping apart the great team we had a few years ago bit by bit. Sandro is the last man standing and we should not even consider selling him unless we believe his injury problems are serious.

Totally agree. Modric tweeted recently having a pop at Sherwood for not playing him. Obviously highly rated by one of the worlds best midfielders who'll have a real grasp of Sandro's game.
We do need to get his injuries sorted once and for all...

After missing half of the previous season with that severity of injury, he was always likely to pick up minor injuries this season. I hope, like a few others, Holtby and Lamela, Sandro gets a proper pre season under his belt.

I love Sandro more than most, my favourite player at the club, so this would kill me. That said, his injuries are clearly having a major impact on his ability to influence a season. I also get the impression Capoue would offer us more... Sandro is unrivalled in breaking up play, but Capoue is very good at this too! and he reads the game excellently. I just think Capoue offers more with a greater passing range and driving runs when space opens up.

Agreed, I think we'd all feel pretty gutted but we have to look at the bigger picture and Capoue showed huge quality at the start of this season before he got injured. I recall him coming on in the first game at Palace for the last 30 mins or so and I felt like he was MOTM from that performance.

I also don't buy into this sentiment about breaking apart the old, great team we had. That was Harry's team and whilst it was awesome and I miss the likes of Modric, VDV and Bale, they're all gone and we have to move on. IF Sandro joins that group then so be it.

Agree with this to every word. Love Sandro, love his passion, love the energy he devotes to the club, but whether he stays or goes Capoue is my first choice at CDM next season. He is a perfect No 6, and I'd love to see what he can become if we can keep him healthy next season.

Great post here as well. A lot of comments favoring his ability on the board, which is decent but with the injuries and his form last year the attachment is clearly based upon sentiment. I hope Sandro gets healthy and stronger with another summer of focused rehab, and I'd love for him to stay, but at the same time I wouldn't be distraught at the thought of what it would do to the quality of our play.

I would hate to see Sandro go because he bleeds spurs it seems. However new manager coming in and I will back him 100% over any player. Lets hope the new manager wants him in his starting 11 and he gets back to his best. If the new manager comes in and doesn't play him much then I would sadly wish him good luck and take the money for him if he wanted to leave.

Why are these key players getting injured so easily?

Look at the job Sandro does, he practically runs himself down into the ground. That kind of play does have a huge impact on your knees.

Hope the new manager retains and rotates Sandro and Capoue and that they are allowed to fully recover from any injuries before playing them.

We probably, may need some improvements to our medical staff.
