Not to belabour a point, but WHL is direct north of Whitechapel tube station.

That makes WHL East of most of those old East End slums from Shoreditch, through Bricklane to Cambridge Heath Road and south down to the river.

That's also not to say that much of the traditional East End isn't East of WHL, just that much of it is West of us.

I'm with you on this one, sorry SS57, technically he's right. But we are talking about moving to East London not the East End, I just think a few people have got the two mixed up.

Yea, very much.

My mum and her family are/were all from the Hoxton area of Shoreditch. Along with Bethnal Green and Whitechapel pretty much the heart of the "old East End" yet read the post code's in Hoxton and you will find it is technically in North London N1 post code.

I think you mis-read what I wrote there

They don't need a large stadium because they are bankrolled by billionaires. We're not bankrolled by a billionaire so we...

Stupid argument. Look at the figures and tell me that we should do better than we do considering the relative spend of our four or five rivals (in fact we spend less than Villa on wages).

And on that ridiculous note I think our conversation has ended.

You might not want to say any more but that does not make it reciprocal.

There are many of us who feel that the progress we have made on the field in the past few seasons show that it is possible to achieve without moving to a jumbo stadium. The point I am making ( I don't really care if you think it is ridiculous ) is that this season we are 1 player away from being as strong on the field as any of the other 5. We do not have to move stadiums to make that step. In fact if we want to compare ourselves to Arsenal they have a much more effective scouting system that saves them millions in transfer fees and wages too. And if we want to compare ourselves to Manure they have a player development program me that consistently unearths home grown talent.

I do not see the necessity for us to compete with City or Chelsea because nobody can and in the end when the owners get fed up with their playthings those clubs can fall apart. Maybe not now or next year or the year after. But eventually. Like it or not Tottenham's history and traditions mean a lot to thousands of our fans and when Liverpool's owner made that same point about the far from super stadium at Anfield and how they need to stay there it struck a chord with many of us.

Yes but they keep them by paying them large wages. Look at the graph above, our wages are half that of Arsenal, Man Utd. Bale is currently on £45k a week, do you honestly think he'll stay if we don't offer 2-3 times that? What about Modric? And this new signing? Unless we get CL every year or build a new stadium these types of wages are beyond us.

I am under the impression that Bale signed a new 4 year contract last year. How many players have left us to pick up higher wages ? Berbatov and Carrick and arguably they might not have done had we been playing CL football in those days. I dont think there will be any of our star players wanting out if we get CL again.
I am not quite clear what is the real difference between our salary levels and Arsenal . You say they pay twice as much as us, someone else said it was 87m against 100m. I also believe we have spent more than them in transfers in recent seasons largely because of their superior scouting system.
i am not denying that a move to the OS would bring us more revenue but at the cost of losing our traditions and moving from our home.

If you look at the table above you, you might get a better idea of the wages each club pays. We spend about £60m a year Arsenal about £110m.

I think I've answered this in the realistic ambitions thread.

So do we at least all agree that heroin is bad and that WHL will end up in Jail and have to have its arm amputated from the infection caused by sticking its self with so many needles, and the Olympic Park at Stratford and will have to stick a dildo up its arse and have weird sex with other stadiums in front of businessmen so it can afford to keep up its drug habit.
