I'm bringing this on here from the first page as there appears to be some confusion.

"The contest will start next week on Monday 14th Sept 2020.
Select one horse from that days racing at any UK or Irish meetings.
Name of horse. Time. Meeting.
All naps will be settled at SP and at £1 stakes.
Non runners will be non runners.
To foil any mirroring you can send your selections to me by PM.
All selections must be submitted before that days racing starts.
We will cover all UK and Irish meetings.
The competition will run until the end of the year.
*After entering the competition anyone not submitting will have a £1 deduction per day."

Any other suggestions??

I think you've covered all bases. To be fair, I reckon the current format most probably gives you enough to do without any additions. (y)

The idea behind this comp was, apart from having a bit of fun, it would show that you guys on here were just as good as the tipsters who were charging ? for their tips....but my experiment hasn't worked out really as some are using tips from those sources. ?

Think I'll wait for the October version now. Didn't know I'd be losing 'money' if I didn't post a tip... Never mind.

Good luck all.

I avoid tipsters and anything from Richard Hannon's yard normally.

I've enjoyed this, I've never used any tipping service, I'm always sceptical, as in if it was that good why would the person not just back the horse to begin with and not tell anyone and also if it has a load of members that are all backing the same horse, depending on its price - the value will shrink quite quickly and finally I also have an opinion that some of the major tipping services will be in 'cahoots' with some bookmakers prior to pricing up selections. That's why I don't really 'back' horses as much, much prefer to study the form and lay a few odds on horses that I think could get turned over.

Gonna have to opt for longer odds in an attempt to make up some ground.

Never paid for tips myself. I quite enjoy doing my own research studying form, stall draws etc. Satisfying when it comes off and your horse wins.

I usually use oddschecker, yes there are opinions on what horse they think might win a race, same as any racing guide in the newspapers, but they're far from always right. (y)

I for one am enjoying this competition, reckon I'm currently giving the paid tipsters a run for their money. 70% strike rate currently. Just need someone to help me set up my own tipping service now. Lol.
