Blatter never misses a chance to have a dig at the premier league.. sure there are lots of players from la liga in the world 11... but they only play for 2 clubs who win 5-0 week in week out! Sure none of us agree with the way premier league clubs do business but who can deny that it is the most competitive league in the world?

How many players outside Spain's top two would get anywhere near that world 11?

I was watching highlights of Barca's win over Betis and the defending is an absolute joke. Alan Hansen's head would explode if he had that kind of field day commenting on la liga team's defending week in week out.

EDIT: I've just seen that it was a cup match.. but still you could apply the same rant to other teams them and Real trounce..

In the premier league teams attack and defend as units.. I'd love to see a prem 11 (who would be in it?) take on dream teams from other leagues. We would almost certainly lose to the Spanish team but atleast ours would be so much more colourful in terms of clubs involved.

Anyway, Blatter is a bit of an idiot whose blatant grudge against the premier league is becoming a little bit embarrassing.

La Liga is the best league in the world for quality right now, but the EPL is by far the most exciting.

Yeah that's what I'm saying.. he doesn't seem to take things like the spread of quality (meaning a much more exciting league) into account..

He doesn't make me angry anymore, he is becoming a comic figure and it gets worse every time he opens his mouth.
No doubt he is trying to cause friction between England and Spain as we were both pissed off with the world cup fiasco.

Or conversely you could argue the spread of "lack" of quality.

I happen to think that the EPL has less outstanding quality in it but as you say, probably has a more even competition.

Our bottom team (West Ham) would most likely be higher up in La Liga.
Their top team would be top of the EPL.

We have stronger weak teams but weaker strong teams. Confusing...thought so.

Yeah I agree, I was just a bit angry at the fact that Blatter was saying we could learn alot from la liga.. a two horse race with outstanding players only in the two top teams where a rout ensues involving comedy defending whenever they play anyone below them.

We're fine mate, thanks.

I don't mind him having that opinion, or expressing it, but I can't help feel that he'll take any opportunity to have a kick at British football. We gave the world the beautiful game Sepp and you're a massively corrupt twat :shake:

No doubt that Barca and Real Madrid have a lot of the talent between them. But then if you gave Messi to Chelsea and Ronaldo back to Man Utd then i'm sure those 2 would dominate the Premier League.

I wouldn't say we have weaker strong teams tbh. Weaker than Barca and Madrid, but the top 5 in England are better than the rest of La Liga imo. I'd have Villareal, Valencia, Athletico Madrid and Sevilla ahead of anyone outside the top 5 in England though. Even though the latter 2 are doing pretty poor this season i'd still class them higher than Bolton and Sunderland.

Blatter, intentionally or not, keeps putting his foot in his mouth with often completely stupid comments of this nature. Hopefully those countries affected by FIFA's ridiculous decision to host the 2018 and 2022 games in Russia and Quatar have the balls to no longer want to be a part of this corrupt organization where such conniving thieves like Jack Warner get to flout their power.
Justice would be served if England, Holland, Spain and others all left to form their own organisation rather than accept FIFA's word as law.
