Looking objectively though, that equaliser and a deserved red card for Norwood would obviously have had a massive impact on the outcome of the match.

But second half started shit and got progressively worse with some truly unacceptable off the ball decision making and diabolical individual defensive performances.

Stick a fork in us, we're done for 2020....
The thing is I don't think it was individual performances today. It was collective problem that really came from tracking back and following runs. The first goal they had 7 players in the box to our 7, ofcourse you stand a chance of conceding. The second one they had 5 to our 6 and third and 3 against 4 in the third goal. We were not tracking players, and this was the issue. First goal Son and bergwijn, second goal Sissoko and also Lo Celso, marking god knows what. Third goal, again Moura marking who knows what. And that's just the people who got back. There were also CB mistakes but they were not given any support. We couldn't deal with them loading the box for the crosses and every goal was conceded because of this.

You can blame individual mistakes, this was a collective problem. Same goal three times. for comparison, when we finally scored our goal, we had three players to their 6 in the box.

"That Kane goal was their only shot of the second half, and only one of two on target in the entire game. "

Disgraceful
First half that was largely cause our forward line have awful decision making, we got into loads of good positions but whether it's Sissoko not knowing what to do, Lucas running across the player with the ball or Son over complicating things we managed to fluff it up. United would have been comfortably 2-0 up at HT.

Because Jose started with all our runners, he made it harder to change the game.

You should alwats have the creativity start the game - as much as possible. Then add a bit more pace for when the game stretches out. Starting with all of Son, Lucas, Sissoko and Bergwijn was a bad decision.

He'd made the right starting 11 in the last two games, I don't know why he changed it so much.

Lucas should only be on the bench from now on, Bergwijn is more intelligent.

Now that top 4 is gone, he needs to play Ndombele as much as possible and plan for next season.

What was shocking to me was how badly we looked like as if the team had not trained together at all. I don't know what were they doing during training tbh.. Everyone had no plan.

Some of you on here still think Mourinho is going to be our saviour? The man is a dinosaur and it will end up being toxic mess
Maybe becoming a toxic mess is what we need to finally get rid of ENIC for this club to finally, truly move forward and become a top club. Because we certainly will not get there with these owners.

We can't afford to pay Jose to leave. Levy needs to back him wholeheartedly. We need much better quality. We have some names but a lot of them not good enough.

I completely agree about the attacking 3 deployed today. No real guile or creativity there. Who was supposed to be the supply? Then we had no pace to bring on if it was required. Big mistake by Jose with that.
That's the problem. He ain't getting no financial support.

Well done, Levy....again

It was a job that 2 men tried. Both world class managers. The squad is simply not good enough.
Sadly the players all thought they'd made it and Poch's methods/tactics were no longer worthy of players of their stature and now they look what they are; a group of average players with glaring flaws. And barely a football brain between them.

They'll all look back at the day they hung MP out to dry as the biggest mistake of their careers.

This squad is finished! Whenever a decision goes against us, we sulk and capitulate! Will need £300/400 million to sort this shower of shite out! And a forward thinking manager, kinda feels like the whole santini/Jol appointment (head coach is well known, whilst the assistant is the younger future manager (think Sacramento takes over after Jose) and I’m fast losing patience with Jose!... all lies with levy though!

I don't think it's that bad. We can get rid of Aurier, Toby, Jan, Sissoko, KWP and Vorm and give us a decent chunk of change and wages saved.

Bring in a new RB and use Foyth as backup being is a DM and inject some fucking passion and pressing into the side and it would be serviceable.

Not a lot. We could sack him but what difference would that make in the long term, not much. It doesn't matter who's in charge, he'll only be hamstrung by ego, transfer policy and outright tightness. There's only one constant in this whole sad scenario and it beggars belief that he still gets such an easy ride. The urgent change isn't the manager. I'm starting to lean toward a change of owner and philosophy, but at the same time being careful what I wish for.

Well, I agree, I don’t think it matters who is manager. But is Levy really going to give up all his hard work by not spending money and improving the squad now. It makes no sense. Makes building the stadium and trying to push on pointless. They might as well of kept us at WHL and taken the tv and prize money and not bothered.

Yep you can see Levy is blatantly hampering our transfers dealings.

Happened under ‘Arry as well when we got champions league and we’re crying out for a centre forward and all we got was Adebayor on loan. No permanent signing, a loan one lol.

We also famously undermined AVB not getting Moutinho who Lo and behold Wolves have now managed to sign!

We didn’t get Fernandes in the summer who has come in and sparked Man U off.

We (absolutely criminally) didn’t get Pereira to replace Walker and Leicester have now got him. Fucking Leicester got him. And we didn’t...

We hung on to Wanyama several years without replacing when crying out for a hard bastard to replace him.

We weren’t ‘brave’ for Poch.

We haven’t got any back up for Kane. I do not believe that even though Kane is our talisman, in the whole of world football we couldn’t pin point someone to provide cover.

Turns out as well the choice of the three speedy wide men against their low block compact defence didn't work at all.

They weren't fantastic when they came on, but the two best (only?) through balls we did and managed to pick the lock with came from the two more technical subs - Lamela and Ndombele.

Possibly the worst post I’ve ever read on SC.

Freeki's long gone into zealot territory when it comes to Poch. He probably loved Poch more than most so his hatred has to ten times more just to deal with having sunk the knife :D

Anyway, Pochettino's gone - the question is what do we do now? I can't quite believe Mourinho has lost his ability to coach football but we have a full squad now and perofmances like that are very very dispiriting...

One of several things ,but yes an overidding view that he isnt cut out for the premiership and is only able to be effective within a 10 yard area due to the fact thats as far as his fat arse can take him.

Wow...thats smacks of pre-match bias to me. But we'll have to agree to disagree

Until Mourinho sorts out our system we will continue to get results like this. We have a right back who plays as a winger but has a poor final ball. A left back who doesn't attack. No defensive midfielder. A midfielder who can't pass, shoot or hold his position. An unbalanced front 4 who leave us outnumbered in midfield and all play as individuals. A striker who doesn't link up play. A winger who blows hot and cold. Another winger who plays with his head down and just runs into trouble. Apart from that we look ok.

What was really disappointing was that after the crap decision there was no sense of indignation, we didn’t say “right, fuck your, you’re getting it now” and kick on. We just did sweet FA

Agreed and that is on the players. Top teams respond

I'd keep lucas but only throw him on if we are desperate. Doesnt offer much as a starter, we need intelligent players around kane.
