With what fucking magic money tree is he going to do that? We're down hundreds of millions of pounds. Anyone can spend infinite money and build a decent team. An actual manager is meant to improve what he's got rather than watching it regress. These players were good enough under the last manager, more than good enough.

He wouldn't have got sacked of they were. A lot of our players are average.

Keeper - Had better days but ok
Back 4 - Completely average
Midfield - Not the worst but far from complete. Only Gio really worthy
Attack - Kane World class, Son very good but a bit streaky. Bergwijn made a decent start

Nobody else is really top quality.

Just for my sake add Dele to your list
Agree. So done with him.

If I was Jose, I'd be very open to letting any of the following go, in order to bring in a little bit more money:

Dele
Sissoko
Lamela
Moura
Aurier
Davies

Then get creative with loans, free agents and swaps. As we need about four starting XI players moving into next seasons (RB (Aarons?), CB (Silva?), CDM (PEH?), AM (Coutinho?). Of the aforementioned, there is potential to only have to buy one... PEH. Aarons can be a swam loan, with an option to buy two years from now. The others are loans and free agents.

Playing three wingers behind Kane is just stupid, bordering on perversely nihilistic. Especially when you have three players in your squad who can play in the number ten role

We don’t need ‘wholesale changes’. Or at least, if we do we are properly fucked. What we need is a coach who can get more out of our players than the last few have been able. Poch was, and Jose certainly is, a manager, but we need a coach. A couple of full backs isn’t going to make us world beaters, but the creation of a style or ethos, some tactics to work to, could.
Wake up and smell the coffee !!! Half the squad are bang average!! We do need a revamp simple !

Right, so what kind of mentality have we got flowing through this current squad then? Kane included? We’re hardly winners, are we?

You counter my post with a load of hyperbole and what ifs? Without offering any form of rebuttal. What would you suggest we do then?
Hire a DoF I think is an absolute must for starters.

To have spent what we have and yet have such an unbalanced squad is a joke.

A big revamp isn't feasible, doubtful anyway to move that many in and out in one window and now with the current economic/world chaos that we're obviously quite exposed to.

We have to be realistic, I'd say three significant signings max. I think the priority has to be the spine of the team - a centre back, a centre mid, and a centre forward. That is where we're lightest.

Also a new season is a clean slate. Momentum in sport is a powerful thing. A few wins put together and it can go from there.

Poch and Jose are being hung out by players and staff. Honestly Pep or Klopp wouldn’t get a trick from these players. Most are past it, not capable enough or just don’t care.

I agree with you mate, we lack winners and we lack drive. We’ve signed the wrong kind of player in Ndumbass and that could have been 3 good young players.

One problem is this I’ve seen over the last few weeks people get on like lamela aurier sissoko Davies lucas are all smashing players .... they aren’t wake up and smell the coffee !!! This squad needs a massive revamp !!
Agree, I wont even be jumping on the Lo Celso bandwagon until hes posting up the numbers to back it up.

Clearly got talent but I want to see it backed up with goals, assists, 95 plus pass percentage and 13km covered week in week out.

I am really worried that I will be far enough up the season ticket list to be able to buy one!
I think Daniel might put the prices up, after all the world's best stadium has a premium product playing in it...... Oh wait no it's a second class product for premium fee my bad.

Can you explain the tactics to me please?

Because I saw a well set up attacking team who failed to execute the plan.

We were wasteful and indecisive on the counter. We didn't track or close down runners for their goals. We overplayed it around the box. We wasted countless set pieces.

That's not bad tactics, that's bad players

Stop letting them off the hook.

I agreed, players played really really badly.

But we aren;t playing any sort of sophisticated angles, triangles, passing into space or even a blocking pressure game. It's park bus counter attack badly or pass around till we get a cross in. Or we look for set pieces

Nor are we defending as a unit or attacking as a unit
