Not being a betting man myself, I just wondered if anyone had put money on winners for this year's World Championship?

I think Rocket Ronnie is the clear favourite for the tournament, providing he doesn't lose interest/motivation/sanity at any point.

Having seen the Chinese lad Liang Wenbo play though, he strikes me as a decent outside bet. Good long potter, excellent cueing action and seems to be playing with no fear.

Plus his 'Mr Bean' moments have been hilarious in the normally serious world of Snooker!

Crazy...... 2 maximums in the one tournament, well done Ali Carter!!

Ronnie'll be pissed cause he has to share that £157,000 now. I think he'll still not have to go for a loan to buy his Bentley all the same. :)

Ronnie is the best Snooker player that's ever lived...

The only player who can beat him is himself.

Imo, despite not liking the guy, Hendry is/was the best because of how consistent he was. Hendry used to have people mentally beaten before the match even began. With Ronnie, you have a chance becuase you're never sure which Ronnie will turn up. He definitely is the most talented though. Despite winning the world title twice, he's still underachieved for someone of his ability, he's so much more gifted than anyone else (Hendry included) but his head isn't right most of the time.

I've heard Hendry is actually quite a nice bloke actually. He just looks so sour faced and miserable it really doesn't help him at all.

The players i really don't like are Mathew Stevens because he makes lots of silly faces, Stephen Lee because he makes me fell physically sick and John Higgans because he's such an arrogant bore.

Gotta love the snooker.
I'm a Ronnie fan as well, can't believe there was 2 147's, wonder if there will be any more!

I might actually go for a game this weekend.

Ronnie just won his match 13-7 to get into the semis to meet Hendry, should be a good game!

Will be an interesting game, as someone said, depends which Ronnie turns up.

He has to be favourite, but you never know with Hendry, he has done it over and over again.

Hendry went 3-0 up, and is currently 10-4 down.

O'Sullivan has just steam rollered the last 7 frames.

Hendry just missed a red completely, not going too well for him at the moment.

What a performance. The guy is a genius, he makes a brutally difficult game look so easy.

World title no 3 coming up surely.

Yup the final is Ronnie's to lose now. Hope Carter gets to the final as he's probably been the better of the two players in that semi.

Definatley Ronnie's to lose know.

Not sure if having the extra day off is going to be good for him or disrupt his flow though! He was in unbelievable form against Hendry. I just hope he doesn't follow through with his threat to take up cross country...

Although Ronnie is a huge talent, and that cannot be denied, I really fail to understand his popularity. Sure he is an exciting player, but I find him extremely ungracious in defeat which goes against the true etiquette of snooker. Everyone loves a character and can appreciate his incredible ability, but I think he takes it a little far in terms of conduct both on and off the table on occasions. If people think that they can relate to him then they're living a lie...

I don't think it can be doubted that he's the most talented player ever to have lived, but I would not yet call him the greatest. Although, with a few more World titles in his backpocket...

He is popular cause he makes the sport exciting. Sport is a form of entertainment and the best entertainers are normally the most popular. Also lets face it, pretty much every other snooker player is dull, i personally love the lil bit of drama Ronnie brings to the game.

Just thought I'd leave this here, the master at work again making the game look ridiculously easy. Hendry's centuries record on the verge of going.
