They beat Stanley at the weekend for a first win since Kevin Bond was in charge.

What a shame.

I'm Southend born and loaf of. I trained at Roots Hall Tuesday and Thursday evenings during my school days and my father took me to see the Shrimpers for the first time in the late 60s. They are my hometown and second team. Campbell is absolutely deluded. I should add I made my peace over what he did to us a good while ago so I was surprised to give him a fair crack at Southend. Each bloody week it seems we lose yet he says in the local press that the signs of improvement are there. He is undoubtedly the worse manager of Southend I have witnessed in half a century. Admittedly the club under Ron Martin's ownership is a shambles but appointing Campbell was a joke. I would have gone for a young hungry manager from non league. Finally, it is not just the playing staff who are owed money from wages, the stewards did not get paid for December and are threatening to strike for tomorrow's home game which will have to be postponed if their strikes goes ahead.
I live in Southend - used to go on a Friday Night in the 80's havent been for over 10 years now

There is certainly a social component as to why BAME people are more susceptible to Covid-19 but it doesn't account for the entire difference when those factors are weighted in. Given that biologically the only difference between BAME people and white people is that they have darker skin the cause is very likely to be vitamin D deficiency which has been demonstrated to be an important factor in resistance to many respiratory diseases and unlike most vitamins is not easy to get from your diet.

Vitamin D is made in the skin when we are exposed to sunlight. It is the whole reason why we aren't all dark skinned as when early humans migrated north from Africa evolution favoured lighter skin that was better able to make vitamin D. If you have dark skin take a supplement; if you have light skin get out in the sun for 20 mins a day.

Dr John Campbell is a voice of reason during this pandemic. Sol Campbell ... not so much .

The greatest mind in football has left Southend by “mutual consent”.
I saw a reply to this thread- hoped this was the news and it is! Time will tell if Southend actually paid him as I'm sure he'll get every last penny that he can. He's f***ed over clubs before.
