Tempting to blame Aurier but I'm a little peeved with Mourinho who waited far too long to make subs after Lamela when we were visibly tiring and becoming so so fucking sloppy and inviting pressure.

Why on earth didn't he get Tanguy on to get some control in midfield? Baffling.

Lo Celso great; Tanganga solid.

41% possession against fucking Southampton, holy hell how far we've fallen
Scored the same amount of goals as them ... We'd have won if not for a brain fart ... Who knew that this is how Mourinho envisions his teams winning football matches.

Fucks sake Spurs, get a CF asap. He doesn't need to be as good as Kane, just needs to be better than Lucas and Sonny as CF's.

As weak as we are in midfield, and as sloppy at the back. We didn't get the win today, because we didn't take our chances again, and had no focal point, or hold up play. We've got many issues in this team, but Lucas and Sonny ain't gonna cut it up front for the next 3 months imo.

But we are still in the cup. And Lo Celso's recent performances the best thing about this team right now.

It was coming though, they controlled most of the game, dominated possession, had more shots, more tackles.

The reason Moura was knackered was because he chased every loose ball near him or whenever we lost possession unlike Dele, who’d give up the chase whenever he lost possession.

Yet for the lapse we'd have won. Results based football, Mourinho's MO since the fucking dawn of time, we had it in the bag.

Biggest disappointment today was discovering Gio's song is the Moussa Sissoko and the Moussa Dembele song.

Come on lads. Where are the guys that penned the genius Eriksen song?

He has no choice! Either in summer or now! It is in obligation to buy! Not an option

Good news, thanks Herc. However, Mou just now: "It’s not an obligation, it’s an option."

Positive words from Mou in the post match, but why is he suggesting its an option? For who's benefit is he lying?

Mourinho on the option to buy Lo Celso
“It’s not an obligation, it’s an option. I think the boy is earning the decision. He’s making an easy decision for the club to execute the option. Incredible evolution since I arrived. Barely played a game, I think he played against Red Star Belgrade, with me a little bit difficult to come in the first few weeks.

“But he understood what we wanted. Good learner, good kid and I think by himself he made the decision that the club is going to execute the option. That’s normal, he earned it.”

Exactly this....until the Aurier mistake that game was pure Mourinho results based football. Doesn’t matter how you win even if it’s not pleasant to watch.

True I guess, but were consistently giving up leads. We have to get better on the ball its killing us.
Flip side is, he'll point to our lapse's when in goal scoring opportunities. We created enough in the first half for the lapse (as bad as it was) to not effect the final outcome of the game. His work on the training pitches will continue but I don't know if he can drill enough football sense into some of the players that remain.

Jose should drop the underperforming Dele for a few games. Push GLC further up and start with Ndombele or at least give Skipp some playing time.

The way the players panic under pressure and consistently give the ball away is amazing, Mourinho has to find a way to fix it because they can't sell all the players.

Half the problem is, and has been with this squad of players for years now, is that too many of them need/want too many touches of the ball. City or any half decent team you watch get out of tight spaces by moving the ball first time around the opposition players bearing down on them. Most of ours just don't want to do that, they take that touch or two and think for that crucial second before moving it and the next man is under pressure then and often played into big trouble. It isn't in their make up and since Poch's time it isn't drilled into them to play one and two touch. When they actually do you fall off your chair.

The real killer is in the final third though. Just second half as an example, twice you have Lamela take many more touches rather than play a simple pass to put Son in on goal. Alli could just slip Son in on his left, instead tries to bundle through three defenders in the box. Alli again could have played Moura or Lamela in through towards goal, instead just takes five more touches and meanders across pitch till its bundled out for a throw. Moura had numerous ones where he didn't make his mind up and fucked up instead of laying it or releasing it. The list could go on....

Someone needs to drill them in the concept of simple football. Pass and move with minimal touches. What's infuriating is we were largely doing it first half, pinballing it about quickly to create counters. Yet players then resort to their bad habits second half.
