As well as my full time job, i also work in woolworths at the weekend. i went into work yesterday morning and was told that jimmy greaves had been in the store during the week!!

I was gutted.

To be honest though, its prob for the best. i hear he's a bit moody. Prob wouldn't have liked me calling him a yiddo.

Anyone else spotted players out and about? What did you do?

I see Pat Jennings about once a fortnight or so at the corner shop at the end of my road, OK it's not like River Island but whatever...

He drives a late silvery 3 series BMW reg No ******
(Its a personal plate-so I can't tell you!)

I see Ray Wilkins, Leroy Rosenior, Luther Blissett, Tony Gale, Robbie Earle, Paul Parker, Efan Ekoku... and quite a few more on a weekly basis.

But it's kinda cheating as I work with them.

Apart from that, I never see players out and about. Though I did see (all I want is a team of) Robbie Keane(s) driving his Bentley through Palmers Green about a year ago! I still hold on to that image!

Used to meet Åge Hareide, Ole Gunnar Solskjær, Henning Berg and quite a few other more or less famous Norwegian footballers and coaches fairly regularly through my job back home.

I see Terry Medwin now and again where I work, also John Toshack and sometimes the whole Welsh squad. Got John Charles' autograph before he died a few years ago as he was friends with my boss.

Saw Regi Blinker in Sheffield once. Just chillin'.

Saw Gary MacAllister, Darren Huckerby, Kevin Campbell and Mark Crossley in Shimla Pinks in Nottingham. Saw Crossley first and was staring at him for ages thinking I knew him from somewhere, and eventually decided he was my old PE teacher before the other players appeared and jogged my memory.

Saw Nigel Quashie in Cruise Flannels in Nottingham.

These are f**kin' A-list all the way! I'm not just saying them to show off, honest!

Oh yeah! Saw Des Walker several times in Nottingham, usually on his own, steaming drunk, smoking cigars stumbling down the street. We'd sing "You'll never beat Des Walker" and he'd join in.
