Do functions count? I had a trophy presented to me by Martin Chivers. My manager at the time introduced him, read everything off his card perfectly, then ad-libbed at the end asking him if he resented Geoff Hurst scoring a hat-trick and over-shadowing his goal in '66.

How we laughed.

At another presentation we had Peter Beagrie giving out the awards. It was at Bramall Lane and Beagrie had just been signed by Stoke. He was pissed and as he gave each of us our medal, he muttered obscenities at us under his breath.

"Congratulations you f*cking little *****."

Tony Gale used to work as a rep for a printers we used. He had keyrings of shirts from his ex-clubs. They were all quite manky and old apart from the shiny Blackburn one. He was an alright bloke.

Ex Rotherham and Sheffield United player Mike Trusson bought our old house in Sheffield. I was only young but when Dad asked him to sign my autograph book for me, I made him do it in the back away from the proper players. ie Spurs players. And physio Mike Varney and kit man Johhny Wallis.

I work in Norwich and weve had none other than big Gary Doherty come in! Nice chap, got him to sign a football for me (dont know why!) Others ive seen are Darren Huckerby, Jason Shackell, Dion Dublin and Robert Earnshaw thinking he was a gangsta with his braces

I saw Doherty dancing like a spastic in Faces when he was supposed to be recovering from injury.

Nice lad, but dances like a spastic.

Someone i knew in sixth form was the granddaughter of Martin Peters. got invited to her 18th birthday party and managed to get his autograph, which was pretty cool.

I saw Michael Brown in Barnet a couple of years ago. He was driving a nice grey Porsche.

So sad that someone so average is a millionaire. Him and Robbie Savage; what a fucking joke.
