It's make or break for us, Levy knows it - he has to keep the manager happy and has to try and keep Kane onside hence why I understand it.
As fans we have to understand there is middle ground too. If we lost this deal like United did, we would be complaining that Levy never budges on his negotiations. I am very happy with this deal, even with the buy back. Levy is showing he has changed and is showing ambition to get into the top 4 IMO.

The best case scenario is that we get a brilliant left back for a year or two and sell him at a profit (which is crucial, because Ben Davies as your starting LB is nowhere near good enough and this has been somewhat overlooked with all the substitute striker chat), and worst case is he's crap and we're lumbered with him, but that would happen if we bought him anyway, and normally we'd pay a lot more for that privilege.

If this player is any good he will influence others.
Exactly. I'm on board with the Bale deal for the same reason. Imagine if Gareth helps turn Sessegnon into the next Bale and Sergio helps develop Cirkin over the next two years.

It’s bollocks. United saving face leaking info as to why they didn’t sign him.

Firstly if we did try and sell him we wouldn’t accept a low bid from another club unless the guy is injured and in his mid 30s. Therefore RM wouldn’t have a deal to match

Secondly. if it was true, you can bet that Levy has since negotiated the clauses out of the deal, or has merged them with the Bale deal and RM will end up paying the transfer fee. RM desperate to get shot if Bale, so ease up on this deal.

If the buy back clause is activated Does the player have to agree to go back to Madrid though ?

The lift from this should bring back the energy and confidence we once had-some players have gone backwards since the CL final defeat. Overall we have a decent bunch of players, it just needs that spark and hopefully this is it.

...just wanted to add- us the supporters needed this as much as the club. COYS
