There is a very small contingent of Yiddos in Mauritius, probably only those who've witnessed the double and glory years of the 80's.

However, it seems there are more and more Spurs fans since Spurs's visit to Mauritius 2 years ago. If there are enough Mauritian fans on SC maybe we could start a mini affiliate supporters group back home?

Pik so orite Spurs! ;-)

So one could go for that romantic honeymoon to Mauritius and STILL get to meet up with some fellow Spurs fans to watch a game and have a beer or two? Can't get much better than that, surely?

The EPL is on national TV every week (3 games) so you get to see Spurs almost once every 2 weeks.

Country's full with EPL fanatics though and anyone should be able to engage into a meaningful conversation with you even about Spurs!

I'm off to Mauritius for work and a holiday.

I land on Sunday 16/03 and work all week but from the Saturday 22/03 to Wednesday I'm on holiday. I'll be there for Easter and my birthday! Woo Hoo!!!!!

If you are free, do you want to meet up? Maybe we can watch a game or just have drinks?

Spurs in Mauritius

Dear Spurs fans,

I am writing a story for 'Hotspur', Tottenham Hotspur's official monthly magazine, about post and pre-season tour matches.

The club has travelled to many countries over the years, and even toured Mauritius in 1974, when Alan Gilzean played his last match for Spurs. Can you ask around to see if anyone went to that match, or the one played in 2005. I'd like to interview them, and maybe get their story in the July 2008 issue of hotspur. Even better if they have pictures of the match too!

Will ask my dad - he was there in 74! Don't think he'll have any pics though.

As for 2005, I was there myself. Will see what I can dig up for u.

Reminds me of watching euro 1996 in cook islands and watching england lose to germany on pemalties (as per the tradition). I was pissed off for about a nanosecond until I was reminded that I was in paradise. Happy days!

Haha.
My uncle is a Liverpool fan but his favourite players is Daws as he met him during our tour there. All my family are either Yanited or Marseille with one Juve Fan. My Grandmere was probably the biggest football fan, used to watch it non stop and always has a eye for a youth player, she called Bale early but also thought Rafael and Fabio would be amazing. She’d host watch parties for the international tournaments.

I went on my honeymoon there back in 2014. We went on an excursion to the Phoenix brewery, I think and they had hand prints of the Spurs players there. Didn't meet any Spurs fans though. All Liverpool or Man U. Amazing place.
Just realised that photo doesn't look like Ledley!

I am off to Mauritius soon with my two sons visiting family.
We will be hoping to watch the Fulham and Palace games whilst we are out there
Probably watch where we are staying but is there a particular pub/sports bar anyone can recommend?
