Not sure whether this should be elsewhere - feel free to move if so.

Bristol City v QPR on SS1 just now - Walker already had a few decent moments.

We are in danger of losing players like Kyle Walker sooner rather than later. 3rd season on loan in a lower league team is not the progress he needs to make or wants. If we don't get him back in January and give him a a proper chance/run out in the first team (rather then the 1 game here and there, without any consistency), he is more likely to want to stay with QPR and winning promotion to Prem League with them.

We will then buy a more expensive replacement who would not necessarily be a better option than Walker could become with more experience in the first team.
This is how players like Diaby, Gibbs, Song, Wilshere, Ramsay, Bendtner, Huddlestone became first team regulars. They had the belief, patience - and strength in their belief from their managers who could have chosen the easier way of buying more experience rather than continuing to develop it.

before we signed Walker and sent him back to Sheffield United on loan he had only played 2 games for them and 9 for Northampton Town on loan.

I do think he has needed the extra loans in the championship to develop, but I do hope we bring him back in January and give him games.

Yeah he looks such a good prospect. He was QPR's biggest forward thread today. Although they look very flat with Taarabt mis-firing and no Buzsaky.

Really pleased with Caulker's progress, and Rose looked good as well, both defensively and attacking, even though he was lucky to remain on the pitch for the 90 minutes after a stupid challenge in the first half/early second half (can't remember).

Whole season with QPR would do Walker good.
Hope he stays untill summer, and that we sell Hutton with Walker his replacement for the 2010/11 season.

i was at the City v QPR game and i was definitely impressed with Rose.
Hes much more tenacious than hes given credit for, quiet an aggressive little fella actually . The defensive side of his game is good- covers a lot of ground and tackles clean and hard. Plus this boy leaps like a salmon! He was out jumping much taller players at corners and free kicks.
Caulker looked cool and calm , kept it simple and seemed to keep his focus throughout the game.
I didn't see much of walker as i was more focused on the movement and positioning of the two mentioned.
Taarabt however seemed dross, running into dead ends as always . not unhappy that hes left!
