Has just got a brace and an assist against Nantes in the first half alone.

Must say, he looks sensational.

Think this is the calibre of player we should be looking at. Looks like they have a really high ceiling, young. However maybe a bit early for the really big clubs to come in with a bid.

Hirving Lozano, 20, is someone I have mentioned before...

He recently got his first cap for Mexico.

http://www.espnfc.co.uk/team/mexico...a-hirving-lozano-few-who-impressed-for-mexico

Quick assessment from the game vs Senegal...

"FW Hirving Lozano, 8 -- The best player of the game. Lozano was eager to impress during his debut and walked away with a confident performance and an assist in hand. The 20-year-old was a firework with his dribbling and movement in the attack."

Linked to Barcelona and Bayern today so is it too late already?

Maybe not too late but his price must have gone up a lot since last summer or even last transfer window. Neither Barca nor Bayern would be a wise choice for him, and certainly not Barca as he would hardly get to play.
But all the EPL top clubs are apparently scouting him "seriously".
I feel this the player Spurs should have gone all out for when Townsend was leaving but he may be a "wise" footballer and not wanting to rush things.

Not really too late. I would think that there are a lot of big clubs taking a look but would be surprised if they bid for him during the next window. See it as being kind of similar to eriksen etc. Players whom have great potential but maybe the bigger clubs don't want to take a risk as yet and would prefer to see them prove themselves on s slightly bigger stage first. As they can afford to do. We can't. Obviously not based on facts. Just my two cents worth

More about Ousmane Dembele:

http://talksport.com/football/trans...spurs-and-liverpool-who-wants-follow-neymars?

Football stats experts WhoScored.com take a look at a young talent linked with a host of Premier League teams…

With the focus on youth in the modern game, it’s understandable that teams will be on the hunt for the hottest talents on the continent in order to improve their squad. The current flavour of the month comes in the form of Ousmane Dembele, with the Frenchman attracting interest from the top teams in Europe’s top five leagues. A number of scouts were supposedly in attendance to witness the teenager bag a hat-trick against Nantes this past weekend, contributing to a WhoScored.com rating of 10.

A host of Premier League clubs are allegedly keeping tabs on Dembele, with Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham among those interested in the rising star. A total of nine goals and three assists in 17 league appearances this season has helped him gain a WhoScored.com rating of 7.69 in Ligue 1, the fourth highest in France’s top tier. Indeed, it’s been quite the stunning breakthrough campaign for the 18-year-old for Rennes and it’s little shock that a host of teams on the continent are vying for his signature.

His versatility on the frontline would be a huge asset to any team, with Dembele starting in no fewer than eight different positions in Ligue 1 this term. Despite being unable to start a run of games in any set spot, this hasn’t stopped the youngster from impressing wherever he has played. Only Neymar (4.5) is averaging more dribbles per game than Dembele (4.4) in Europe’s top five leagues this season.

With a statistically calculated WhoScored.com strength of ‘dribbling’, Dembele is indeed one of the most difficult players to stop when he gains a head of steam. To add further weight to his superb ability to run with the ball, the attacker is being dispossessed just 1.8 times per league match in France’s top tier this term. No matter how hard opponents attempt to limit his influence, he’s clearly one of the more difficult players to stop, with his unpredictability aiding his swift ascent.

Clearly boasting an end product to his game - Dembele is averaging 2.4 shots and 1.6 key passes per match this season - he’s not one who simply runs into blind alleys for the sake of it. Of course, given his age, there is ample room for improvement on the defensive side of his game, which will need refining if he is to realise his immense potential, but there is time for him to develop this aspect.

Nevertheless, Dembele’s displays suggest he can certainly improve with the right management. The ample game time received for the French side this season is clearly having a positive impact on the player. With this, he is able to express his superb offensive quality in the final third, with Dembele as lethal around the 18-yard box as he is in the penalty area.

The attacker’s approach is somewhat reminiscent of Neymar, with Dembele a keen admirer of the Barcelona star – “Neymar is my only role model” he said during his time in the youth team – highlighting exactly why there is such high interest in the teenage sensation. He is unlikely to partake in Euro 2016, but then Rennes are expected to be able to command top dollar for a player of his already evident quality. Given his potential and apparent ability, Dembele is set to be one of the most sought after talents this coming transfer window.

Not sure if Spurs are ready for another Dozzell...but Spurs are linked to Andre Dozzell. Anyone seen him play?

http://www.twtd.co.uk/ipswich-town-news/29318/

seen him a couple of times for england and although i was only really watching for our lads, dozzell did look tidy from what i remember. comfortable on the ball, good athlete and got forward well, a bit jenas-like perhaps. the other non-spurs player in that age group that impressed me was fulham's dennis adeniran, built like an absolute bull in the michael essien mould and can drive past opponents at will.

i doubt we'd move for either yet though, they're better off developing where they are.

Giovani Lo Celso from Rosario Central

19 yr old central attacking midfielder. Contrary to what happens most of the times, he's better than what the video shows. His off the ball movement, creativity and intelligence is off the chart

There's a rumour right now about a 15m bid from PSG

Would love for us to be able to take advantage of any of the connections poch has in south america, especially because of the wealth of potentially cheapish attacking players, if we scout and go about our business correctly. Like how some spainish and portuguese clubs do it.

Work permit's the biggest problem with this situation, maybe the link with roda could come in handy for such players though

correct completely forgot about stupid work permits and I like your thinking with roda, as they shouldn't be many South americans just a few to fill in where our academy falls short in.

Love Vickery but as someone who's listened to him on World Football Phone In for almost 10 years he knows f-all when it comes to scouting players.

Yeah, I remember him saying how Paulinho was destined for greatness.

Interesting link rearing its head again - Taylor Moore. Does anybody know more about him? Is he just like Dier b/c of the growing up in a European academy, ie- a lazy link, or is he a ball playing centre half that could just so happen to be Dier's ready made understudy as a DM?

Sounds like he is running down his contract, so does seem very Levy like from the business side of things. Plays with Onomah and others at England U19 level too.

A shoutout for someone who can perform the Dier role is Mikel San Jose of Athletic Bilbao. He's been playing very well as a DM converted from CB and has a good range of passing. He's also familiar with England as he was in Liverpool's academy before joining and developing with Athletic.

Trouble is that Bilbao typically don't sell their players for less than their release clause, but he's an option to look at.

I have been mentioning him for the last 2 years (I suggested that Spurs buy Dier back in 2013 ) and he looks a bit like Dier in that he's played RB, CB and DM.
I am not saying he'll turn out as good as Dier but I reckon Spurs should sign him this summer and take a punt on him. Whether he's better suited as CB or DM remains to be seen.

Watched the second half of Sao Paulo vs Santos yesterday since we have been linked with their on loan striker Jonathan Calleri. Obviously not enough time to make any conclusive judgements, but he was really poor on the night. Heavy first touch, held on to the ball too long, unimaginative movement, but decent work ethic and hassling of defenders. Reminded me a tad bit of Soldaldo, as at a first glance he doesn't have the pace, strength or dribbling skill to create any sort of space. I'd like to watch more of him since this was only a first impression, and only it was only one bad 45.

But while I was at the old hipster scouting thing, I watched the Argentina league match between Velez Sarsfield vs Quilmes. And for a match that literally took place on a rugby pitch it was highly entertaining, full of good technically, combative and fastpaced action. Sarsfield dominated play for the most part, creating tons of chances that they couldn't fully take advantage, and a shaky defense cost them as Quilmes countered and pressed really well at times. There where plenty of good young attacking players on both sides, but there where about 4-5 players that really stood out to me. * Warning these players maybe totally shit, but i'd like to think one or two could find there way and find success in Europe. and @Ossie85 probably knows a lot more then me about them

Braian Mansilla- '97- 5'11- CF 1G 22 Min/ despite coming on as a sub he was the most impressive player on display scored a great counter attacking goal, showing off his pace. he showed off his strength and energy as he at times pressed all of the Sarsfield back four at once. And despite being very isolated he kept hold of the ball really well making a lot of clever little passes and runs off the ball. don't know how clinical or smart he is in and around the box as he spent most of his time defending from the front. he looks a physically specimen with great athleticism, strong build and a fair amount of pace.

Jorge Correa- '93-5'8-AM 1G 77 Min a left footer with a think lower body, very hard to knock of the ball, played a lot of good one touch with Yamil Asad, thou he tried to force things at times, like trying to dribble through the whole defense and got caught holding onto the ball for too long at times. scored a cracking volley from the edge of the box, wasn't shy at all of having a shot.

Yamil Asad- '94-5'11-AM 1A 90 Min played most of the match as an inverted winger on the left, often while in possession he and Correa would follow each other around the pitch creating mismatches and passing options ect. played quite a good killer balls and showed tremendous decision making on his assist for Correa's goal.

Max Romero- '99-5-11-CF 59 Min taken off early after getting injured. Was suppose to be heading to Arsenal last summer, but a pretty serious back injury stopped the transfer. Struggled to find space and compete physically against much old and much more physical centerbacks, but worked really hard for the side and won the ball back for his side quite a few times. Definitely looks like a special football in the way moves across the pitch, his first touch and his compete level.

Hope u enjoy my post and thanks for reading it if you made this far and even if you didn't ;)
