Went to watch the game at the pub with a bunch of Utd workmates who’ve been dishing it out since Monday, predicting 3-1 and 4-1 wins to Utd.

Didn’t, or couldn’t, look at the screen for the last half hour.

I’m milking this for a fucking month!

Been the best CB in the country by a distance for two seasons now, and never gets the credit. Absolute Rolls Royce of a player.
Kind of weird how little attention he gets. Toby gets a lot of plaudits and rightly so but there's little between him and Jan.

Just back from the game.

We could have won by 6 or 7. When we play like that we are a proper football team.

With Eriksen back we look awesome. Hes so good.

Jan Vertonghen is going to be one of those players that will never get the credit he deserves, will stay with us until he retires and we will tell our grandkids he was one of the greatest defenders we ever saw and they will think "who the fuck is he".
He's already a legend at the club

He's just amazing. I'm glad it's on the quiet.

How is pogba a £90 million player. He'd be a bench player for us at best. Dembele made him look a right mug

When I was talking to some Liverpool mates about the best defenders in the league (Cause they were all talking about Van Dijk conquering the league) I mentioned Vertonghen and they were generally astounded that I mentioned him. I said that he's been better than Toby recently (who they acknowledged to be the best) and they just laughed and said no way, couldn't believe it.

On my way back from the game. Froze my bollocks off waiting to get into Wembley Park tube station but who cares- it was worth it. Brilliant performance.

I was surprised by how Utd seemed to simply give up in the 2nd half. Seems we battered them into submission.

Eriksen and Dembele were magnificent.

Fantastic performances all over the pitch and in the dugout.

Mourinho's plan was just to overload Trippier and Sanchez and it didn't work at all.

.
Special mention to CE as he gave Trips a lot of support in defence - great all round performance

Vertonghen is a very intelligent and tactically astute player. The past 2 seasons he had had confidence in his manager. Not before.
He's actually become more consistent, quality wise.

The fluidity and effortlessness of his game shines through.

He's also a very technically gifted CB and can ball like a mofo when he's in the mood.
