I just realised that our results since the restart is not as bad as I thought - (W3 D2 L1)

Win against Everton, Arsenal and West Ham

Drew against Man Utd and Bournemouth

Lost against Sheffield Utd

Its our performances that have been Dire

We’ve also kept three clean sheets in those games, and only conceded more than 1 goal once (Sheff Utd)

Without the sloppy United penalty that would be 4 wins and 4 clean sheets

We’re improving but folk on here choose not to see it

Man Utd is fair enough but we should beat Bournemouth and no way we should be losing to Sheffield. Also we only beat Everton due to an own goal

The positive results are not luck. Jose Mourinho brings results to the table. The Bournemouth game we should have got a penalty for a blatant foul.

Bournemouth just thumped Leicester and Sheff United are no mugs. They hammered Chelsea.

We are finding our feet as a team and Jose knows that with results comes confidence and a team belief in structure and strategy. He is a proven winner and world class manager and I believe should be given time and funds to take us to the next level.

Just cant please some, we win in NLD but its shit, performances are bad when we have lost once in 6 games, doubled the number of clean sheets we had had all season.

The season was over before the restart for me but beating Arsenal was all i cared about. We did that

He made 10 tackles today, which is more than any other tottenham player has done in any PL game for the past 4 season.

Its not like he's making crunching tackles . Its more he used his speed and intelligence to do the unexpected and surprised the Arse players.
Nice to see a bit of appreciation after unfair (imo) Aurier level abuse in recent matches . Be great if Lucas could give a couple of pointers to Sonny on tackling too.

A part of this improvement was the absolute public trashing we got after Bournemouth. I reckon it motivated the players out of their comfort zones . Hopefully that continues .

Aaron Lennon hardly made a crunching tackle in his whole career, but was the best defensive winger in the league, and always made his right back look good. If Lucas develops a bit of that it won’t do any harm.

Think we should give Sheff Utd some credit , as far as I can see from results they haven't lost to a London team in PL this season , looks like they raise their game for the teams from the capital.

Arsenal’s performance yesterday was very similar to ours at Sheffield, the difference was Sheffield scored 3 of the 4 chances they created, if we had scored a couple more and possibly should have done, everyone would be saying, we pissed that!

i was so sure we would lose yesterday..........but we didn't and so the sun is shining and the birds are singing........happy happy happy happy.

Also, we are one game closer to the end of a season I would like to forget quite frankly

Myself I think 4,4,2 formation worked well and with two up front its no coincidence we had more shots on target than our normal none/one on target . As for Moura all this love for making 10 tackles well all I can say as an attacking forward if he had had a few shots on target I would be impressed . We all know that the best teams defend from the front players first .
If you are happy to have an attacking player as a front line defender almost all the time then thats OK .Then why not play a midfielder in that roll . I know I may come across as naive but I want my attackers to attack and my defenders to defend and my midfielders to be the link between attack and defence .
Moura apparently made 10 tackles he could as far as I am concerned make twice as many tackles but he is still a forward I would much rather he impress me with 10 shots on target and that is not going to happen anytime soon as I cannot remember the last time he had one shot on target .You can gather from what I have said I am not impressed with him . The best attackers do not have to go around tackling the opposition players like a raving banshee . As I say the good attacking players are occupying the defence by their attacking prowess .
So you have to decide (in my opinion ) whether you want your forwards to occupy your opponents with their attacking prowess ala Waddle Ginola Bale etc or be the type of forward the firstly defends ala Milner who was at first a winger until he realised that he was in fact a defender and not an out and out forward.
So I submit do you want Moura to spend his time slowing down the opposition with his tackling prowess or do you want Moura to spend his time putting the ball in the net and providing chances for their team mates .

Watching motd and our tactics are pretty balls out. We are playing with virtually a front four. How many teams do that? Man City perhaps.

The closing down by Moura and Son
while not quite up to peak Pochettino helped.
We defended well but too deep
for my liking
but I assume that was to draw Arsenal on
and leave space behind
which we exploited
as the game progressed.

Didn’t he have a shot on target in the first minute?
