To be fair, one of them was unfit to start the match and the other has yet to settle. Dier/Sissoko is unworkable as a midfield pairing but if we’d have bothered to replace Dier or Wanyama with a PL-quality DM at any point over the past five transfer windows we’d never have been in the position of needing to rely on the two of them.
