Being a fan of both clubs, I will say that Spurs should win this one easily. Fire just got wiped 5-1 by San Jose last night, and have been pretty bad all season. Fire have a few decent players, but they just don't have much in the way of attacking ability. There's last season's MLS MVP (Mike Magee), but he's been terrible, the favorite for MLS Rookie of the Year (Harry Shipp) who has been very good but I don't think has the athleticism to cause and problems for Spurs, and of course the Spurs loanee (Grant Ward) who has shown flashes but hasn't put it all together yet.

All-in-all I expect a pretty easy W for Spurs.

5-1.

I also forgot their GK, Sean Johnson. He's on the shortlist of goalies to by in the USMNT squad with Tim Howard's likely absence in 2018. Very athletic, will make ridiculous saves, but then will let in a softie.

I will be attending this match (as well as the training tomorrow, and Q&A hopefully), and I am very excited. First Spurs match ever. I'll try and report back as much as possible.

Good news: field is grass.
Bad news: expecting showers and thunderstorms.

I plan on being at the training session and game as well. This will be my second Spurs game. Went to Baltimore 2 years ago to watch the friendly against Liverpool. Terrible game. 0-0, terrible game in 100 degree heat with players who cared only about not dying of a heat stroke.

That Fire match last night must have been painful to watch. The quakes are awful, and that must have been thoroughly embarrassing for yallop. At least Ward scored a decent goal. Harry Shipp is the man though; that guy's got a big time future I think. Don't think they'll put up much of a fight in the friendly, but who knows. Toronto's youth team in the second half gave us more of a game than their bench players did in the first.

Out Saturday night, but I'll be home in time for this. Hopefully the Spanish speaking connection clicks even more. :)
