We must have been instructed to play this way. We know we can play much much better than this. We also can attack far greater than we've seen tonight. It looks like we're just following orders.

Reckon he's got them on reigns to make sure they've got some legs for the second half. Most of this team have barely played more than a handful of games together, but little triangles are happening, there's still a lot of optimism in the squad so it doesn't smell like a plan gone bad at all.

I mean, it's Jose, what do we know?

That was painful, men against boys.

Lloris, Sanchez, Winks and Lo Celso are playing very well but our forward players are cut off and Aurier has been shite.

either revert to 352 with Tanganga coming on for Moura or bring Ndombele on for Moura and beef up the midfield.

I wish we had Sess on the bench as Davies although good defensively offers nothing going forward whether it be as a left back or left wing back.

Spurs are currently the epitome of Mourinho’s turgid football without being able to spend £300m on star players who can do something extraordinary to get a result.

Probably a great game to watch for neutrals, they are better and they'll 100% score in Leipzig, we need a clean sheet. Maybe we can do something if Sabitzer gets red carded.

Fantastic scoreline for us especially as we have been outplayed.

When you are missing 2 key attackers, surely the emphasis should be on being solid defensively but far from it.

I admire the way every player has grafted despite us being bossed a little. We need to hold onto it better and show for the ball in the forward positions.

The MOST frustrating part of it all is that we know we have a player sitting on bench who can boss the entire game and make the difference that we need.

Lastly, sanchez has been incredible!

We have the players to play. We just dont have a striker but we can build up we can and shoudl play in a way to retain posession and build our attacks.

but against the press, you need an out ball. so you need a target man (RB have Schik for example). or you need someone to make the right runs (which Dele sometimes does, but Moura almost never does as he wants the ball in to feet).

or you need someone to be brave and break the line with the ball like Lo Celso did. I think Ndombele could do that second half, when RB tire (hopefully).

Dele has the ability but he needs to be careful he doesn’t become the Christian Eriksen of not bothering to tackle.

Winks has been a little poor.

Mae need to stop trying to carry the ball into areas they can attack with 3 players vs 1.

Ndombele driving our of midfield should be an option used in 2nd half.

Gefson good first half but lost the ball badly a couple of times. Good crossing though.

too eager to play it forwards but Bergwijn is being marked out of the game. Hence my comment we need carriers like all Cello and the introduction of Ndombele, as Leipzig for all their positive movement and pace can be got at and are naive too some of our skill (see cheap yellow cards).

On limited viewing I'd happily take Gedson on a permanent basis. Looks like he still has a way to go with with his decision making at times, but you can just tell by his touch and how he moves with the ball at his feet that he's got "it".

Lo Celso could become an absolute monster.

Bergwign looks like great business.

And Dele....well.

I get that we have no striker. But we should be able to play better through defence and midfield which we're not. Seems like they have 2 extra men on the pitch.

I hate 442 and sitting off, having none of the ball, and just having a few counter attacks.

Why can't we put Lucas and Bergwijn high and wide to push their wingbacks back. Leave Gedson, Lo Celso and Winks in the middle. Dele up top.

Lloris has been good
Sanchez incredible half

Lo celso the only one midfield, gedson and winks deer's in headlights shitting themselves.

Front 3 have nothing to work with due to shocking midfield.

Honestly can't tell if RBL are that good as Southampton pretty much looked like this against us. And villa in large spells

In that famous CL semi in 2010 when inter beat Barcelona 3-1 at home in the first leg, Mourinho played a low block first half and pushed the line up drastically for the second half. Similar high press opponents.

Repeat?

I have no issue with the players selected, but since December, we have played give the ball away football. We have been extremely lucky with results.

If you think the players we have can't play football then you need your head examined.

GLC
Bergwijn
Lucas
Alli
Winks
Gedson

Those 6 players are capable of stringing 5 passes together. If you can say they can't keep the ball then you need to follow that up with we are going to be relegated.

Couldnt agree more.

Technically we have players on the pitch more than capable of maintaining possession and moving the ball around. Missing Kane and Son doesnt change that, and without any sort of target man the constant playing it long is fucking retarded. Why the constant turnover of possession and big back to front hit and hope balls.

We get outplayed match after match, not just tonight and often by teams half as technically proficient.

Well, anyone who has followed football a little closely the last decades have seen that his only real achivement was with Porto (which was impressive!). Everything since has been a result of throwing more money at a problem than anyone else (and even then he failed at times). I was hoping he would somehow rediscover the magic of his youth, but has instead yet again been exposed as a sham
Oh dear - some people just can't wait for the opportunity to be 'proven right'. Judge him at the end of next season by all means.

Even more unacceptable that he isn't even jogging back in the right direction....
He's been extremely poor in all aspects thus far. I can accept players being out of form as long as I can see effort. Serge just looks like he's only playing because we were one short.

It was Aurier's bad pass which directly led to Lo Celso getting that yellow as well. He's been the weak link so far, he misplaced a pass after a nice bit of play from Bergwijn and quite a few other little rough moments (a ball that went right through him not unlike Engels the other day). That was a hell of a ball across from Gedson which Dele couldn't get on the end of, I like him lots. Dele's been good, Sanchez and Lloris have both been great.
