While folk grind their teeth I'm gonna just say it, if we go out, we go out. Last year was the same until we hit the final, we lucked it, we're gonna need some more this year.

We don't have any strikers so lets play 2 and empty our already physically weak midfield.

Does'nt make sense to me.

Can you imagine Harry Redknapp putting that formation out?? He would be getting called a dinosaur ? and lynched.

I can't understand at all what Jose was trying to achieve. 442 with Lo Celso and Winks in the middle. Dele and Lucas completely out the game. Gedson out of position on the right wing, Bergwijn lost on the left just doing defensive work. Awful.

I'm a massive fan of Mourinho and what he has achieved in the game. But I expected more. Yes we have players out, but we're playing like this every game, no matter the opposition we are giving up possession.
Well this is how he’s set teams up in big games for the past 5-10 seasons mate so what did you expect?

I get that but he doesn't have the players to play this way either.

How do you expect him to play? He's not going to play open expansive football against Leipzig like we tried v Bayern and got pummeled. It was clever tactics tonight to sit in and try and counter. Unfortunately we couldn't manage to hold the ball up top much but that's down to the players he has, like I said.

Our defence isn't good enough to hold off a quick attack either without having some element of protection in front of them either. Playing open football or even short passing moves is not an option right now. Clearly the players are still lacking in some confidence.

You might as well say “Jose needs to stop being Jose.” He’s not gonna change. All this bollocks that he’s gonna unveil some brand new vision of modern football next season. Do me a favour. People are drinking the Kool aid.

He might get some good players in, and we might be a better balanced side with more individual quality, but there are coaches around now who are moving the game forward with ideas and application.
Yep I have said this all along. We won't see anything else, and not sure why there are people expecting it. Hoddle said it well - we look like we're just hoping something comes good. Might get a break here or there from individual moments, while Leipzig is fully structured, knowing exactly what to do and when to do it both offensively and defensively. Christ. The more I think about it the more depressed I get. 3 years of this.

Forget the style of football; leave it until next season.

From now until May we have to grind and fight for every point. I'm just glad we've got JM for this, because he's good at it.

On todays judgement of style, tactics, instructions to the players he clearly has not got it and was luck in the game v villa

Dont see why so many of you are upset with Dele for showing frustration at that performance when we've all been fucked off with it ourselves. You all cry when the likes of Eriksen look like they dont give a shit and then complain when a player shows he actually cares.

No way can you tell me he was any worse than anybody else out there during that first hour, we set up negatively and the players suffered for it.

Didn't think Leipzig had that many 'special' players. They played, similarly to LIverpool - pressing as a team with their defensive process and working the overloads with their offensive process. BUT they don't have Lo Celso - who seemed to be playing them all by himself at times.

Yeah, we’re really pushing our luck. We’re a bit shit really, but we were in our first 6-8 months with Poch. Investment is badly needed though

I'm not convinced investment will do it and I'm becoming less convinced by JM with each passing game now. I don't see anything that suggests any hope for the future under JM, investment or not!!! If I were Levy, I'd pay Mourinho off at the end of the season and go for someone like Nagelsmann.

Dele is such a fucking baby. Boy needs to grow up.

Can’t throw his toys out of the pram every time he gets subbed.

He’s not been good enough. End of.

Let's not forget that Jose came in to a team performing absolutely horrendously anyway and has had about 5 minutes and massive injury problems to contend with. Expectations are high, probably too high after last seasons mental run.

But I still believe we can find a way to win this tie.
