Front four need to be really on it.

If we start slowly, again, I'll tear my hair out.

Even in our darkest days under Poch when we were losing to Burnley, So'ton, etc. week after week, we still often had the lions share of possession and were able to pass the ball around and control long stretches of games. The problem was we were slow, predictable and unable to break teams down.

Under Mourinho with the exact same players (minus one CE) we're suddenly meant to accept that our squad is incapable of anything other than deep-lying hoofball? I don't buy it.

People actually saying we haven't got the players to maintain possession when defending the negative tactics.

It's comical.

Interesting, I’d hope it’s 4-3-3 but it’s probably three/five at the back.

I like the idea of having pace in CD.
I like the idea of Winks having a DM (if Dier is there and not CB) in there with him, along with LoCelso.

could potentially be very good. But we’ll play wi tv a back 5, at home, to Wolves, and we’ll get outplayed.

Like this team. Think los celso floating and helping the midfield might mean we control a game for once. Going to give dier the ben of the doubt, at min should give us shape.

Huge faith in the two at the back, think their pace is a smart move.

Interesting look to our future today.

Can someone clear this up - Sky have got Lamela on the bench - have they got that wrong?

The first 10 minutes of this game will tell you everything you need to know. Wolves have arguably a more technically proficient side today, and they love to play high tempo football, with Jota and Jimenez pressing from the front. If we start complacent and low energy, as we have recently, we'll be 1-0 down in the first half and the crowd will be massively agitated.

I know it's become a bit of a cliche on here to say it, but even teams like Brighton, Norwich and Villa are capable of putting together sustained spells of passing and movement that look far beyond us at the moment, yet only a handful of their players would get into our squad.

Surely there's some middle ground between sterile possession and this purely negative shite we're playing at the moment with this squad.

No one is instructing our midfielders to pass directly to opponents and be second to every 50/50 ball. We aren’t controlling possession because of that and lack of a striker with canny movement up front. It’s little to do with tactics and a great deal to do with execution.
