Watching Harvey White yesterday you can see the improvements that are happening within his game right now and he is a joy to watch at this point in time.

Here are a few things I have noticed with him over the last month or more, first thing he is getting more confident and he is demanding the ball a lot more and he is telling people what to do, his in game management and positioning on the pitch is impressive and he is a intelligent player.

Physically he is getting stronger and you can notice that he is starting to push opposition players around and he is starting to walk through players and coming out with the ball in most 50 50 challenges for the ball, his tackling has a lot more bite and he will win more than his fareShare of them, he may not be as good as say Skipp in this department but he has other tools that no other player has.

One of the tools that he has is his long range passing and this is getting better and he is dropping balls right at teammates feet from long distance with ease, his short passing is just as impressive and he can strike a ball and his delivery into the box can be of a very high quality.

Yesterdays u18s was a brilliant team performance and you could name 4 or 5 players for Man of the Match and you would not be wrong, I would have gone for White not because he scored two goals but more about his all round performance and his long range passing is just so good to watch.

Was Djed Spence at Spurs as a kid before he was at Fulham then moved to Middlesbrough?

No mate, you're thinking of D'Jean Spencer think he went to Birmingham after he was released. Right age group though

Nah, Spencer dropped out of the game. It was Kane Thompson-Sommers who went to Birmingham, he's still there as far as I'm aware playing for their U23's.

I remember you telling me about D'jean Spence but as you say I thought it might have been the same player.

He looks a good player this Djed Spence, he scored a good goal the other day.

The person to ask anything about Swansea seems to be @agrdavidsfan

Been in and out of the team struggled with injuries and Swansea don’t like to play him much as he’s got a few bonuses in his contract they have tried to avoid but more recently they’ve been forced to play him due to form and suspensions etc. But cooper prefers the other two young lads over him but I don’t think it’s anything to do with ability thinks it’s more to do with finance.

But he’s much the old Tom Caroll lovely technical player but lacks the physicality or drive to be anything other than one of those neat players. There was rumours of him leaving at the start of January to Brentford and then QPR.

There has been calls for him to play as a number 10 more recently but as things have gone a bit sour for the new manager it’s likely it won’t be risked but to be honest I think it’s been mentioned here already when Swansea had a bit of a left back problem there was suggestions from within that Tom can play there and is excellent there.

Although he’s a brilliant guy off the pitch and does a lot with the Swansea youth teams etc actually a future pick to be a top manager.

While I am on it actually there are talks that Cooper is looking at Eyoma & Tanganga Eyoma was close to moving there in the summer but it never happened as Joe Rodon’s move away didn’t happen.

But wouldn’t be surprised to see a few of our youth go there...or Chelsea’s.

Especially with Rodon,Roberts,Ayew or all likely to leave.

I have two questions to you that have seen the u18 and u23 play: Does the U18 and U23 team play the same formation that the ateam play? Have the change of manager from Poch to Mourinho changed the formation and style of play of the u18 and u23 team.?

Nothing has changed in regards to how the youth teams are setup.

Mcgee - I thought he had some real potential as a keeper
Smith - just edges KWP though very close
Ogilvie - I thought he was destined to be a top player probably lacked a bit of pace but was very close to Chilwell at his age group
Caulker - What a sad story should have been Spurs and England's centre half for years he had the lot
CCV - For me he is is a bit maligned he has a lot going for him as a defender still young
Winks - Deserving of a spot in anyone's side not outstanding as a youth player but very steady and always looked to improve
Carroll - Tom such a nice player to watch moving and playing the ball his size was always a question but he could pay
Pritchard - Talented boy not enough genuine pace about him but he could play
Townsend - I always liked him direct murdered defences at youth level
Mason - Forgotten but a really nice player to watch linked it together
Kane - No other forward really

Mentions for Oduwa - such a shame a real talent for me he was mis handled at Tottenham he had so much to offer and was allowed to languiish on the wing when he had everything a central striker should have

Obika might not be a popular choice but for using all the talent that he had he was decent and knew how to score goals and has made a decent career scoring plenty of goals at a lower level

Missing Bentaleb I thought he was terrific what a loss - Viejkovic as well but he was a little slow for me - Lesniak was always tidy and I enjoyed watching him not spectacular at all but read the game - Azzouii as well a real loss when he went, he had some real talent and potential what a shame that injury has hit him so hard

I like that team but would go for Kasim ahead of Carroll to be honest. Always thought he was excellent in that central midfield role.

He will play a number of positions but I like him LCM of a two or three man midfield but not as a holding player but he can play that position if needed.

The u18s have the better system in midfield right now, what they do is play White on the LCM Max Robson on the RCM and play Pedder in the hole, they switch Robson and Pedder every now and then and this works for both players, White is our main man for both u18s and u23s.

As much as I love White I do worry that he's one of those neither one thing nor t'other midfielders that we're so good at producing. Not quite a defensive midfielder, not quite a box to box player and not quite an attacking midfielder. He's a super little player but he's not super quick, super strong or super powerful. He's just a really good user of the ball and not many teams want to accommodate players of that type in this era. I struggle to see White holding down a position in our central midfield. I suspect he'll follow an Alex Pritchard route and up as a Championship creative wide man. Not the best use of his abilities but teams want athletes in the middle.

mostly agree, i see him as a left-footed james ward-prowse myself so he could still find a place in the top leagues. he will need to find some untapped athleticism if he's to go any further though.
