Austin, Sessegnon and Skipp in the u21s. I wonder what's happened to Tanganga

I haven't seen a lot of Williams but from the little I have, I wouldn't have him over Dasilva or Sessegnon I don't think. I think he's a kid that's stepped in and done well but ultimately won't last, especially at LB.

Based on the past season I think Sessegnon is miles off, I know he did really well in the Championship but even taking into account the limited opportunities he got, he didn't impress. Not convinced he will end up at left back either, but we'll see I guess - I think Cirkin will quickly overtake him for that spot as Davies' deputy, if he hasn't already. Haven't seen enough of Dasilva to comment really, but if he's better than Williams he must be good - the only question mark against Williams for me is that he's right footed, but that didn't stop Young becoming a solid left back for United and England. Long term I wouldn't dismiss Shaw either, he's become a bit of a joke figure now, but he's a huge talent and seems to have sorted himself out.

I'd probably go Rose, who's the old head to tide is over. He has proven he is good enough for international football and at a point was World Class. If Southgate explained the situation people would understand his selection.

Whether it was Rose or Young I wouldn't particularly mind, both are proven international quality and are good enough to tide England over until Chilwell is fit again. I'm not sure what Southgate could say that would explain his choice really, unless he's planning on playing a Venables-style 3-5-2 with attackers on the wings rather than full backs, which seems extraordinarily unlikely. Picking three right backs, one of whom almost certainly won't play, but no left back just doesn't make sense.

Not sure he had injury but last week he was pictured in training. And now he's absence in England and Ipswich game
Lots of people were missing.

Has Tanganga ever been called up to the U21s? If he hasn't it makes sense he hasn't been called up considering he hasn't played in a long time and we don't know what his conditioning is up to.

It doesn't really make much sense calling him up on the back of a few performances a long time ago, even if he deserves a call up on ability and performances. You're managing a squad here, not simply picking the best players.

I would not think too deeply about it.

Seen Lilywhite Rose and Coys100 using my screenshot on twitter - how dare they  - have to get out in the open I spotted this screenshot, before any of you think I stole their find

Obvs @Spurzinho did absolutely all of the real detective work
It's alright, on The Extra Inch podcast, both you and @Spurzinho are given some recognition from Windy for identifying the trialist... Kind of...
He said "someone from Spurs Community" figured out who it was. ?

Fair point. If the call up was straight after his games it'd make sense but its been a while since and some injuries. Though sayin that he's done more than Skipp and arguably Sessegnon last season so I'd say his call you would be more justified than theirs

I mean, yeh, I'd call him up. But don't think there is anything suspicious about it.

I've heard that Elliot Thorpe picked up an injury in the match against Leyton Orient that will keep him out for awhile.
[He didn't feature against Crawley Town.]

It's a shame. He was a standout performer that night.

He's similar to Ryan Mason, he's got some kind of developmental bone issue that makes him very vulnerable to injury.

White starting against Reading today.

CCV / Bowden / Clarke / Devine / Scarlett / Cirkin all on the bench and will surely see substantial minutes.

Former Spurs schoolboy Marcel Elva-Fountaine has signed for Burnley after his release by Reading. MEF is a right back. Interestingly he arrives as Burnley had just released another former spurs schoolboy right back in Kane Patterson (younger brother of Phoenix).

Harvey White had a decent if unspectacular first half. You’d imagine if he does well he might be looking at the Oliver Skipp blueprint (few mins here and there through the season, loan to championship club next season)

Did better than PEH in my opinion. That said them along with Gedson were probably the worst players from the half.

White looks good on the ball, especially when he's got a bit of space. Some good switches of play, a nice ball over the top for Dele, and zipped some passes forward along the ground. Didn't look too comfortable defensively, though I do remember one good tackle as a Reading player was moving into the box.

Don't have much to say about Bowden's performance, steady is the word that comes to mind.

Impressed with Cirkin, looks like a really well-rounded fullback. Main thing I noticed was his intent to zip passes forward, seems to like a one-two as well but wasn't getting the ball back.

Devine only got a few touches at the very end but I liked what I saw, looks like a real prospect at sixteen.

Cheers. Patterson was decent wonder where he'll end up

Thought White looked fairly settled today and was pleased to see him attempting some passes which shows a level of confidence.

I thought this waa different to Cirkin who I felt played a lot more within himself. There were easyish forward passes on that i felt he couldve made but took the safe option. Hopefully once he settles more his confidnece improves.
