Very excited about this signing, and in a world where Patrick van Aanholt costs £9,000,000, it's an absolute steal. While I'm always hesitant about signings from Holland, we've done very well from that market in the past decade apart from Janssen. This guy seems to have pace and power to complement his technique, so while I don't expect him to be firing on all cylinders from the get go, he seems to have the ingredients to be a hit over here.

So funny seeing the joy in here. Give it couple of hours and suspect I’ll be reading “fucking Levy the tight wad” “he hasn’t bought anyone decent for 2 hours” “get Levy out he’s ruining the club” etc...etc...

Its a good deal and Im happy we're getting a player with potential but let's not pretend that this signing absolves Levy from all the problems we've had for the last 2 years. This signing doesn't fix problem areas in our squad which we have had for a long time so now is not the time to start singing isn't he wonderful.

Okay so fee looks to be all sorted now, which is good. Now comes the tricky part for Levy...who pays for his plane ticket? Danny will probably argue that even Amazon Prime delivers your orders for free.

Bergwijn is already in London. He made that sure before agreeing with PSV. As we speak Steven is heading via public transport to Enfield as Levy organized an Oyster Card 5 Pound Top Up Pay as you go card for him. That is deducted from his first salary though.

Equally we shouldn’t lay them all at levy’s door. As there has been a lot of ITK in the past that Pochettino only wanted his top targets or no-one. Getting some of those players like De Jong is not an easy task, shown by the fact he joined Barca six months later

Tottenham and PSV have reached an agreement for the Holland winger Steven Bergwijn.
Spurs will pay €30m (£25.4 million), with a possible additional €2m (£1.7m) in add-ons and bonuses. Bergwijn was left out of PSV’s squad for their match against Twente on Sunday and headed to London to complete the switch. After the clubs continued negotiating on Monday, a deal was reached in the evening.
Bergwijn will become Tottenham’s most expensive signing in a January transfer window, and at 22 is a very exciting prospect. He has nine caps for Holland and is expected to be in their squad for Euro 2020.
Comfortable on either flank, Bergwijn is pacy, tricky and possesses an eye for a pass. He can also operate more centrally, though not in the No 9 role that Spurs have been looking to fill in the absence of Harry Kane. Spurs therefore will continue their search for a centre-forward in the next few days, with AC Milan’s Krzysztof Piatek still on their radar if a satisfactory agreement with the Italian club can be reached.
As for Bergwijn, confirmation of the move to Tottenham is expected in the next day or so. And his compatriot and former Spurs midfielder Rafael van der Vaart said on Twitter yesterday that he expected the move to be a big success.
“Should it all really happen, I believe that Bergwijn will certainly be a great signing for Spurs,” Van der Vaart wrote. “Obviously he will have to adjust to the PL pace and ambience but his speed, technique and strength will certainly add something to the Spurs game. Good luck to Stevie and my Spurs.”
Assuming the deal goes through Bergwijn would be eligible to make his Premier League debut against Manchester City on Sunday, though he has suffered recently from hamstring issues so may not be ready to play.

The article says he can’t play as a 9 but it seems he has played there on a number of occasions this season

It's the bi-polar nature of our fans.

For a player widely considered to be primed for a move out of Holland, £25m feels a steal in this market, especially when you see what the Ajax boys are going for. Feels like the Eriksen/Verts deals, hopefully works out as well as those did.

Liked our quick counter attacks vs Soton, this guy could improve them even further.

Lovely. Will be a great window if we can now get in a striker too.

Sorry if it’s already been done to death but I’m hearing both by commentators. Is it pronounced Berg-Wine or Berg-Vine?
