PSV are just saving face, trying to make out Bergwijn is the bad guy and they had no choice but to let him go. Their fans will think the club will therefore have made the correct choice in letting him leave.

Even though it's not our fault....this is very us isn't it. ? All over the media that he's flying to London yet he's done it off his own back and no fee agreed. Standard ?

Faber about the situation with Bergwijn: 'We switch quickly. It makes no sense to talk about it for a long time. For Steven it is hoped that this will be resolved quickly. "Is there still a way back possibly? He is pretty clear about his feeling about it. ,, We are already through. "

Sounds like PSV trying to save face with the fans. Fully expect them to say that they had no choice but to sell due to Bergwijn having his head turned.
When I first saw the 30 mill figure I thought it was cheap. His contract does not expire till 2023

If that 30 million figure is true then PSV have been well and truly Levyed. So not at all surprising PSV will publicly blame the player to save face with their fans.

A Leicester fan on Foxes Talk just said that Leicester were a bigger club than Spurs because they’ve won 3 league titles in the last 10 years.

The Government would be proud of that kind of spinning. Jesus.
To be fair when was the last time we won the league title? What's the point of a football club if it's not winning honours.

I know we have more pressing immediate needs but getting this guy in would make me so much more excited about the future. 23 and under players: Sessegnon, Parrott, NDombele, GLC, Sanchez, Tanganga, Winks, Bergwijn

Still work to do but that is a immensely talented young group.

They do appear to be counting their 2008/09 League One and 2013/14 Championship wins as equal to their Premier League, though.

Highly doubt he's being brought in with the intention of playing him up top, but I have seen a few people suggesting he'd 'just be another lucas up there'. Bergwijn is exceptional with his back to goal and has great link-up play so would be much more suited to the role than Moura??

This is 100% exactly the same thing we did with Son, put him on the plane to London and most of them didn’t know until he hadn’t turned up at training.

Details from Sonny’s book:

  • Leverkusen rejects Tottenham's initial offer due to 3 years being left on Son's contract.
  • Levy offers higher fee, but Leverkusen's Rudi Völler, the sporting director for the club, rejects again.
  • The negotiation starts in the morning, but there are no agreements made by 4 PM that day.
  • Levy tells Son and his family that he will make a final offer. If Leverkusen rejects this time, there will be no transfer.
  • 30 minutes later, Levy tells Son's agent that the negotiation broke down. Völler starts leaving. Son will stay at Leverkusen.
  • Son's father, Son Woong-Jung is furious. Visibly frustrated, he grabs the sleeve of Völler and starts shaking.
  • Völler is surprised at the extremely strong intent by Son to leave the club.
  • Levy seizes this opportunity and makes an instant offer:
"There are a lot of procedures for the transfer to be completed. So we'll take him to London and we can talk about the fee over the phone. If that breaks down, we will send Son back to Leverkusen."
  • After another long period of negotiation, Völler accepts.
  • Son, depressed that the transfer broke down, suddenly receives a phone call to bring his passport to the airport.
  • On the private jet headed to London, Daniel Levy a.k.a. Bald Genius smiles, stating that "the side with the player has an edge." Levy is a legend.
  • The next day, Leverkusen starts telling the press that states that Son is purposefully missing training. Leverkusen's manager calls this "unprofessional behavior."
  • However, Völler does not tell the team where Son is, as they still haven't agreed on the fee.
  • Leverkusen teammates, not having a clue what's going on, tries to contact Son, but he ignores because he did not how to respond. Teammates, especially Hakan Çalhanoğlu, are pretty mad.
  • Nobody knows where Son is at this point except Son's family and Levy: he is in London undergoing a medical.
(Fun fact: Ji Sung Park, South Korean and Man United legend, calls Son around this time to ask if he's in London. Son says no. Son states in the essay that he still feels remorseful for that.)
  • Spurs and Leverkusen manages to reach an agreement over phone for 30M€. Son becomes a Tottenham Hotspur.
  • Rest is history.

What an idiot, flying to London to force a move, if true. This place will go nuts in 3 years time when he pulls the same move to secure his big transfer to Inter Milan.
Would it be better doing a C Eriksen and downing tools for a year and half.

What’s all this talk of ‘being Levy’ed’?

If they refuse the £30million there is nothing we can do. No matter how much the player sulks.

He did - and it seems unlikely that's without PSV's permission, although doesn't guarantee that a fee's been agreed or is close.
