Massive game. Strongest possible team IMO. Yeah I know we have the Ajax 2nd leg next week but this is arguably more important. 3 points a must to secure top 4.

Lloris
Foyth Toby Jan* Rose
Sissoko Dier
Moura Eriksen Dele**
Son

*Sanchez if Jan is not fit
**Dele should be dropped but we’ve no one else.

I think Poch is actually going to have to make a couple of changes here and freshen it up to try and get us through this and the Ajax game. It's all well and good saying we need to play our strongest team, but for a run of games now we keep selecting them and just simply aren't getting it from some players. Maybe at the weekend it's the one where we do get a response, but on the recent evidence you cant be confident it is going to happen.

I'd go with:

Lloris
Trippier Sanchez Alderweireld Davies
Sissoko/Skipp Dier
Son Eriksen Moura
Janssen

Subs: Gazza, KWP, Rose, Foyth, Sissoko/Skipp, Alli, Llorente

Alli and Eriksen seem to have nothing in the tank at all. I'd like to give both of them a breather before the second leg, but don't think that is possible.

I'd honestly start with Janssen. He'll be keen and at least put himself about. Llorente had 90 minutes here, will probably struggle to go again, and might be needed vs. Ajax considering he was our only outball tonight.

Who knows if Sissoko is ready to start, considering he almost certainly played more minutes than intended tonight. Hopefully he is, but if he isn't I wouldn't want Wanyama and Dier so that leaves Skipp. He's been trusted earlier in the season, do it again. Bournemouth aren't the worst team to drop him in against in my opinion if needed.

Allow Vertonghen time to make the second leg, give him the weekend off.

I would like to see Poch play a formation and lineup in this game, and use it again for the return leg against Ajax. Rarely do we see the same set of players play twice in sequential games. With that in mind...

Lloris

Foyth
Toby
Davinson (If Jan can't play)
Davies

Sissoko
Dier
Rose

Eriksen

Moura
Son

It's more likely to be a diamond midfield with Eriksen further up in a freer role. But I'd like to think having a midfield three of Sissoko, Rose and Dier will give us some much needed bite... as we're gonna have to fight, and earn the right to play. I feel like that lineup will give it a go in both games. Give them a chance to all play together on Saturday. Get used to it. And play them again four days later. I truly think it'll make a huge difference in our overall quality.

We don't have the midfield to dominate possession and create anything of note ATM so our best bet maybe to invite them on and play on the break.

With that in Mind Son and Moura are a must up top (no Llorente or Jannsen to slow things down.

Definite balancing act needed. I think Sissoko and Vertonghen need to sit this one out. Both will be key vs Ajax and are won't be 100%.

Full back rotation as standard. Dier in for Vic, unless Poch wants to use Dier against Ajax instead.

We are going to have to risk Son and Moura. To be honest our attack could use some confidence going into Ajax so I'm less inclined to rotate there. Potential to rest one of Eriksen or Dele, but again they could probably use a chance to build some confidence too, especially Dele.

Lloris

KWP, Sanchez, Toby, Davies

Dier, Skipp

Moura Eriksen Dele

Son

There must be a temptation to play Janssen for this one, but I imagine Poch would be reluctant to do so.

I honestly don't know what they fuck we're going to do in this game, we absolutely must rest players but we can't afford to and we have no one to come in for attacking players.

Eriksen and Dele looked dead on there feet tonight, but who else do we have who can play?
We are alarming light on attacking players, feel like its a must start match for Janssen, just to give us some energy more than anything else

I can’t see how Dele gets in our best team given he’s both bang out of form and energy. We need fresh legs at FB and CM.

Lloris
Foyth Sanchez Toby Davies
Dier Sissoko
Moura Eriksen N’Koudou
Son

GKN's out on loan in France. If you want to drop Dele the only options are to play a back three, start Janssen or Llorente, or turn to the academy.

Son has to play through the middle, that's where he's best... Not from the left.

That's the single most important thing this Saturday.

Bournemouth win incoming!

Could be, lol.

But in truth, they've been poor all season after their initial run of 10 games or so. They've only managed 6 wins since then.

If the likes of Fulham can go there and get a win, we should really be doing the same.

I just don’t know anymore. If I’m being honest I’d take the win here if it meant a defeat next Wednesday. We are literally crawling to the finish line.

With the threat of Liverpool winning the double, our serious lack of investment, our injuries, the Poch speculation and our general lack of good play this season has not been enjoyable in the slightest. I can’t wait for it to end to be honest.
