Agree with the Bear, give Bale a run with the players in our squad who have earned their place.

So Bale doesn't have to earn his place, but all the other players do?

Fuck the 4-2-3-1 bullshit. It's not much use having a screening midfielder like PEH if he's shifted off to say the right hand side but you want your left-back to still get forward and have cover. Sissoko is an energetic box to box midfielder but he's not a footballer with defensive intelligence, it leaves us unbalanced as a side.

Give PEH the outright responsibility of sitting in the hole in front of the defence, chopping out problems before they get to the defence or being there to save the day if they do.

Then play both of Lo Celso and N'dombele as a pair in front of him. They're both combative and they are both brilliant ball players who look to get it forward.

The next thing that doesn't get talked about enough is who in that squad plays better when they're on the pitch together. For example Son and Kane this season. I think the next pair who really link up well and play better together are Lo Celso and Lamela. They love the fast one touch balls and when Lamela's got other players zipping it about he dawdles on the ball less. Those are two players who can build an attack if the counter-attack isn't instantly on. And I also reckon they'll both play better with N'dombele as well.

Another sign of a little link up has been Docherty and Kane in some of the early games. It's not a lot but I think there's something there, more so than I've seen with Aurier (even if Aurier has been very good this year). On that basis Docherty should get a run in a stable side that has the creativity to pick his unexpected runs out.

Then at CB it's tough. I still think that Alderweireld is a class above any other defender we have in the squad and his passing can be an absolute weapon if not over-used. If his legs have gone then fair enough but I don't think that's the case. Who should play next to him is a toss up and I'm seriously hoping Rodon can step up and make the role his.

At left back I'd be inclined to start Reguilon even if Davies has had a really good season. We'll ignore the last match as both of them had shockers.

If we're winning then, THEN, I'd bring on the likes of Sissoko, Winks, Davies or an extra CB to to tighten things up and see the game out. And that brings me on to Mourinho. Don't start with one set of players that aren't really going to click, cull half of them at half time and expect the next eleven on the pitch to be able to click.

In fact Mou a couple of times this season has made genius subs and other times as made some awful ones that totally unhinged the midfield. Many of the fuck up are relating to favouring players like Winks and Sissoko over the likes of Lo Celso and N'dombele, weird substitutions that don't seem to correlate to performance and can only be explained by adherence perhaps to the bosses instructions.

Not exactly, but he hasn't played with the best players in our squad this season for more than 10 or 15 minutes. Need to give him a run with Kane and Son, players who are as good as he can be.

Bale is just out of interest to see how he does.

Winks if Lo Celso isn't fit but let winks do what he likes instead of shackling him I want to see how broke or how bad he is.

Doherty because if Aurier starts Mourinho will play the midfield 3 of Sissoko Holjberg N'dombele and I really do not want to see Sissoko playing right back and covering all game.

I agree, and eventually Mou will have to do just that, but the Son-Kane partnership has been so good so far this season that I wouldn't advice rushing Bale into that... there's really no need for that.

No need but nice to have the option. It could potentially also occupy another defender and give Kane more space to play in.

Fuck watching Bale jog around with the 2nd string, give him 60 minutes with the main men before bringing on Lamela or Ronnie Rosenthal.

Yeh and nobody has made that right forward position their own yet. Lamela has been the best of the bunch but he is never going to be relied on full time due to injury worries and he can be really useful in other roles too. Also lamela might be the most effective energizer we have to change a game off the bench.

Moura has run hot and cold. Bergwijn looks better on the left but not got going after lockdown.

Even if Bale isn’t firing it might be worth giving him a go against Brighton with better players around him because the upside is higher.

I’m more and more thinking of this. Plus, we let Kane and Son play their way into form because we know that the patience is ultimately rewarded, therefore maybe we should do the same for a guy who has proven his ability at the highest level.
