Because he has only been tested against Gillingham

I didn't know if it was because of an injury, i seem to remember Poch saying CCV was keeping Wimmer off of the bench because he had done better in training.
I think Dier will start back there but I think CCV will be on the bench. I also liked Wimmer from the little I did see so I would like him to get a chance but I suppose Poch knows best.

I'd say the biggest question here is whether Poch starts with Son up front or behind Janssen.

For me, it would be the former.

Agreed, I would prefer pressing and attack as today we looked too slow getting the ball to Janssen. For me that is partially due to Pulis parking it, but the other portion falls on Janssen's broad shoulders. He is more a target man, a stationary (he is not stationary in the sense of his work rate) forward that gives his teammates an outlet; he has been acting like a backstop of sorts for players to run off of. What Son adds, with a 5 of (Sissoko, Lamela, Son, Eriksen, Dele) is the ability to turn and run with pace with the ball at his feet. Son isn't going to be playing with his back to goal as much as Janssen does. Yes, Son can be a decent hold up option as seen this season, but he offers a bit more dynamism to the front. I also think he is a better presser than Janssen.

So in the end, I agree. I would like us to go out there and bring it to them, just as we did with MC. This is my ideal:

---------- HL -----------
KW - ED - JV - DR
---------- VW ----------
EL - DA - CE - GKN
---------- HMS --------

bench: VJ, MS, HW, MV, KW, KT, MD

That is how I would line up. I know it is crazy throwing Georges in there, but I like what I have seen and haven't really liked what I have seen of MS. I know this won't happen, but such is guesswork. If he goes 4231, I want to see this:

---------- HL -----------
KW - ED - JV - DR
-------VW - HW ------
EL ----- CE ------ DA
---------- HMS --------

For me the partnership of Dembele and Victor today ruined the game for us. That isn't to say it couldn't work, but for me if you play a CM2 with Victor you need someone that will move the ball a bit quicker than Dembele. I love Moose, but I still think he is suited up the pitch where his speed, strength, agility and ball winning come in most handy. Winksy has shown his comfort with Victor in the preseason and just offers a different dimension in the middle of the park. He is head and shoulders a better passer than Dembele and has shown strength and close control to retain possession in the middle of the park. I believe in my adopted Son and think his time is now. Let Vic sit. Let the FB's bomb forward. And let Winksy orchestrate the bridge between defense and attack.
