We know their plan. Press us high and attack wide with their full backs.

Dont leave space in behind.

Go a little longer when needed (ala arsenal away last season)

My only two requests. I'm sure Poch has a plan and it's been meticulously prepped. But don't go letting Mane or Salah get in after leaving half the pitch free for a simple lob over the top, and don't give a stupid goal away fucking about at the back. Aside from that, if we're on it there's no reason why we can't nick something.

Their luck has to run out at some point

TAA supposedly out because of illness. Robertson might also be in doubt.

I read somewhere that Liverpool haven't lost at home for 42 league games (Palace won there back in 2017). Tough game, but they are due a loss!

,
I’d also agree here. The best remedy for a poor defense(which ours is) is a good attack. For that, the ball needs to keep moving forward and quickly. Winks, for me, doesnt play the forward pass as often as we need and has slowed down the transistion from back to front a bit lately. Plus if we’re still insistent on Sissoko being a starter in CM(something I do not agree with), Winks shouldnt be near the preferred XI.
The perception that Winks slows us down is so wrong however a spell on the bench is needed. Our slow play is solely down to Toby and Vertonghen who go through a silly process before the long dialogue.

Cant stand them and thought they were massively arrogant in Madrid despite all the goodwill stories. Hope we can nick something.

Been thinking about this since Tuesday and think I would go for the following.

Gazza
Aurier, Toby, Sanchez, Jan, Davies
Sissoko, Ndombele, Alli
Kane, Son

Vorm, Dier, Foyth, Winks, Gio, Lamela and Moura.

As tempting as it is to play the same team that played midweek I worry a bad defeat could put us back to square one in terms of confidence and Poch changing system again.

Play with a back 5 and a low block, limit the space for their forwards and wing backs. I want Toby in as I feel for this game the ability to transition quickly will help us, similarly to how we played against them a few years ago. Reason I have gone Alli over Lamela is based on minutes for Lamela being managed and Alli's ability to find space and drift between the lines.

We know we will be under pressure so I want us to make it as difficult as possible and try and get chances on the counter for Kane and Son against VVD and Matip 2 on 2.

Wow is this the best bill of health in the clubs history? Every outfield player available for selection??

I think formation is more important than personnel here. We always seem to play our very best with 4-2-3-1 as that 3-1 cause the opposition so much trouble when they’re on it.... 3 in midfield invited Liverpool into us a bit which is not what we need when we are so fragile - whomever is selected!

Son, Alli and Lamela look up to the task at the moment, that’s what I’d go for
