Time to give Foyth or Tanganga a run out as Sanchez’s partner. Never thought the day would come where our most assured defenders are Aurier and Sanchez when we still have Toby and Jan but oh boy has that day come.

Gazzaniga
Aurier Sanchez Foyth Rose
Sissoko Dier Ndombele
Dele Kane Son

Austin, Tanganga, Jan, Skipp, Lo Celso, Sessegnon, Lucas

Looking at some of the selections here it makes me wonder if some supporters really watch us play. Our ongoing problem all year has been having 6 or 7 players who are just 85-90% match fit. NDombele, Vert , Moura and Dier can't or shouldn't play two consecutive games. With this in mind I'd go with;
...................Gazzaniga
Aurier Sanchez Alderweireld Rose
.........Sissoko Winks Sessegnon/Lo Celso
...................Dele Son
......................Kane

You say that then you go on to pick Winks and Sissoko in the centre, which never works very well... ?

Toby set up Dele for 2 goals with pin point long range passes! He wont drop him.

Dude that is madness. No way he drops Toby and I can see him sticking with the safety of Verts. He did have that fantastic last gasp tackle to stop a 3rd goal. I'd keep the back 4 for the next game.

I guess you are trying to address our problem of defence leaking goals but you are going about it the wrong way.

Toby and Verts aren't the problem. We need to solve the problem with them in the side.
We could do with a solid DM. We should persist with Dier for a few games and if it still doesnt work maybe try Foyth there.

—————Gazanigga
Aurier—-Toby—-Sanchez—Jan
————Dier—-Winks
Lucas———Dele———Son
—————Kane

Subs: Austin, Foyth, Rose, Sissoko, Ndombele, Eriksen, Lo Celso

The hardest decision for me is who partners Dier in the middle. I felt Ndombele was too rusty yesterday and that Sissoko doesn’t have the passing range needed for whoever partners Dier. So Winks, just about.

Look you're going to have to accept that Jose will play Dier, he'll keep playing him because he likes to play with an anchor whether Dier is good enough he's the best player we have to play that role.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see Winks start this as Ndombele doesn’t look fully fit.

Gaazaniga

Aurier Alderweireld Sanchez Vertonghen

Winks Skipp (fuck it why not eh!)

Sissoko Dele Son

Kane

Cant see Sissoko being dropped after scoring but then Moura scored against spammers so guess it’s up to whatever Jose thinks is tactically best against Man U.

Hopefully we’ll have the advantage that he knows about their players and can target their weaknesses.

When he gets the chance Jose will upgrade diers position but until then he plays him, I wonder what Jose would have done with a fully fit team of dier, wanyama and dembele protecting the back four.

They are the problem. Its been obvious all year. They’ve lost a few yards of pace and its very costly when we play a high line with a struggling for fitness DM.

I think we will see Jose’s first pragmatic team selection. I think we’ll revert to a 4-3-3 with Sissoko, Dier and Winks supporting Dele, Son and Kane. I think Aurier will still provide the width on the right, but more conservatively.

Depends on whether José thinks Pogba is going to play.

Without Pogba, Man U has a soft midfield and I think Winks Ndombele might be work but if he thinks Pogba will play then Sissoko n Dier
